meh.... It didn't really matter which order we attacked them to be honest. Our RR fit has 80+ resists, it is effectively a 600dps tank (against worst resist, 1320 dps against best) with 62k EFP just running in pairs. Add a third, and it is a 1130dps tank, and a fourth is a 1660dps tank.

While it isn't the best offense out there, it isn't bad at 400 dps or so with faction missiles.

It wasn't about how much DPS they could put out but how much they can take. The Tengu is the obvious tough nut of the two and since you had it locked down you should of shredded the Harb. It was a bad call (hey we all make them), you went for the Tengu cause you wanted the T3 KM, it is understandable 😀
 
Well we had a good fight the other night. Unfortunately we only got one kill to show for it. We went into our static C4 and saw that there were people active in there and we tried to pick a fight. So we get in our tengus and decide to run the only couple sites they had left, basically provoking them and taunting them to come out and fight us. So we are watching D-Scan and watching as they are slowly getting their fleet together. So we are watching as they are changing ships. First comes a helios, then a vulture, then a raven, then a rook and finally 2 drakes.... Now we only had 3 tengus in there wh at the time, and since we ran sites in them, they figured they were PvE fit. So after watching all these ships show up on D-Scan, we were just waiting to see what they were going to do. At this point we figure they are trying to just scare us off, by basically putting most of their ships out of their hangers so we can see them. and we weren't going to fall for their bluff. After another 10 minutes we notice that the vulture was no longer on dscan and a buzzard shows up for a few seconds and disappears. So we start to get ready, figuring the fight might actually happen. Then a helios and a bomb show up on the overview, but the guy had no clue and launched it too far away from us and it doesn't even hit (it manages to blow up a couple looted wrecks but that is all). And as that happens the rook, raven, and one of the drakes warp in. The rook was probably thinking he had us, but little did he know that we had eccms fit and we turned them on just as he warped in. Our 4th tengu jumps into the wormhole just as they start to lock us and we have him warp in on the action. We lock down the rook and the raven, and focus on the rook. The 4th tengu arrives, and we break his tank, he warps off along with the drake (the rook must have had stabs fit), but the raven didn't. So we got this nice little raven kill. Wish they had sent the vulture in...

We were going to save the Raven for last anyway once we saw the cruise missiles blow up on us. I mean, our signature radius barely makes it over 200m, so he was doing next to no damage at all (he did have those remote reps, but they were not enough to keep up with our damage we were laying down and he couldn't run them both for long anyway.

This should have been a disaster...

So we are trying to pick a fight (what is new?), and we link to a wormhole that is occupied by a former alliance war target (before we joined, but they remember the old war, not that we cared other than it got the riled up).

We manage to get a cloaked onyx onto their side of the wormhole without them noticing, and we are laying this awesome trap. They sent cloaky to our side of the wormhole to see what we had (which was 4 RR tengus at the time). But as we see a pilgrim, curse, 3 abaddons, 2 ravens, and a broadsword on their side of the wormhole we warp the tengus off just as they jump in. We wanted to take a look at their fits on the abaddon's before engaging (good thing too as they had 3 neuts each). We decide that we are still going to fight them, but bring in another tengu and had our carrier pilot waiting as the trump card, but we also decide to warp at range to mitigate their neuts, and utilize our speed advantage. Except one of our tengu pilots didn't get that memo about warping to range, and warped to 0 (our fleet commander was the carrior pilot, and the wing commander the onxy which was on the other side of the wormhole). So we all start pounding the pilgrim, and scream for our tengu pilot to jump thru the wormhole to their side (since it was clear), but he doesn't and targets the curse who hadn't bothered to get his armor repped and popped the curse in 2 vollies..... Our tengu jumps thru, and then a few seconds later as we are now fully engaged jumps back in and warps off (their broadsword jumpped back to their wormhole to keep our tengu from leaving, and the curse we had been hammering follows due to his tank busting, but then they were caught in the 4 minute timer, and couldn't follow our tengu back, not that the curse would have, but the broadsword probably tried).

In the end, we only got that one kill. With their broadsword on their side of the wormhole and the fact that the wormhole started to collapse due to mass, we didn't follow them back to smash them against the anvil of our onyx.

Sounds fun. The Necromongers have been around Antem a lot lately. Thye generally die or run away though. The don't impress me much, that is for sure.
 
We got a few blackeyes the other day... Part of it was our POS placement (someone, who will remain nameless, placed our POS in one of 2 planets which would not be able to D-Scan the entire system). So we ran some sites and were just finishing up salvaging when our noctis that was salvaging came under fire from 3 stealth bombers, and popped.... About an hour later, one of my corp mates spies a drake on D-Scan and warps off to pop it in an Abaddon, and as he is there, a Machariel, and Loki warp in on him and pop him.... All because we couldn't D-Scan the whole system at once from our POS.

We track them back to their wormhole and are trying to figure out how to get some payback, but they had a lot of firepower, and were fit to take on our tengu fleet (1 falcon, 2 machariels, a cloak fit loki, 2 bhaalgorns, a broadsword, an abaddon, an onyx, a scimitar, and a guardian, and possibly the 3 stealth bombers we were hit by earlier (but we only saw one of them later on)). They lived in a C2 with a static high sec and static C4 (and linked to our same static C4). They didn't have all their firepower in our wormhole, but were keeping some in reserve on the C4 waiting to come in if we started to fight with what they had in our system.

So we look at the mass on all the wormholes and see that their static High Sec and static C4 were pretty low (low enough that we could colapse it with an orca). So we play some stealth games with their guys in our wormhole to keep them interested while we logged on an alt in high sec who had one of our orcas that we got stuck on the wrong side of a wormhole collapse (someone forgot to turn off their afterburners) and start bringing it to their high sec entrance. Managed to warp an industrial with a large mobile warp disrupter to the C4 entrance they came from and cloaked it up (we didn't want to deploy it until we were ready to trap them with the orca collapsing their way home). We had plenty of firepower to beat the guys they had as bait (which was a machariel most likely with the falcon and loki sitting cloaked up on it nearby), and we had the trump card of our thanatos which they didn't know about. But just as we get the orca 1 jump from the high sec entrance, they decide to bug out.... Yeah, it did take 30 minutes to get the orca there, if only it was a couple jumps closer we would have had some nice kills. In the end, we simply lost a noctis and an abaddon. Not the end of the world, since we then made about 1.4 billion isk (total) running sites after we collapsed the C4 entrance.
 
That Abaddon was missing a Laser. I have almost the exact same fit, with the exception of an 8th large pulse laser, so I don't think it was a fitting issue. Did he take it off to fit RR, and just forgot to put it back on when he removed the RR?
 
Yeah, I think that is what he did. I don't think he had an extra laser in the POS because I know I have flown with him with all 8 on it before back when we were in high sec (POS bashing).

Also, I am glad I noticed how much of a boost gas harvesting V gives you and explained it to everyone in the corp which we all decided was worth the 3-4 days to train because we just ran into a wormhole which had 8!!!! Ladar sites which we stripped in 2 hours (would have taken like 6 without the changes we made just last week). The gas is for building tengus (we would rather mine it then have to cart it in).
 
Wormholes were quiet last night. We only had our static C4 connection (no incomming), and the C4 was devoid of people online (but otherwise pretty empty), however the C3 it connected to, was a C3 with a static null, with nobody living in it, and no activity over the last 3 days (maybe longer). It did have a crapton of sites to run (34 normal sites). Myself and a corpmate ran 32 of the 34 sites (we would have run them all but our connection to the C4 was nearing its end and we didn't know the exact time it was opened so we didn't want to press our luck for the extra 30 minutes it would have taken to run and salvage the 2 sites). We made 1.4 billion total, not bad for 3 hours in a C3.

We knew we were outnumbered 2 to 1, but we decided to fight anyway. Even though they completely outnumbered us, they decided to drop 5 carriers on us anyway. We still killed the cyno ship, and all but two ships got away.

Saw a 10 man gang headed down a dead end chain, so we got together 4 ships and a cyno for reps and waited for them to come back. By the time they came back, we were up to 6 ships. When they engaged, I lit the cyno, and we killed all but one thrasher and a stealth bomber. I cringe at the Cane fits, but I hear that they are alliance approved fits for them, and they have to fit their canes that completely fail if they want to get them replaced.

Well.. the problem is EVE is absurdly vast. So it really depends on what you want to do. You could start with http://www.isktheguide.com/. It's a 200 page overview of all of the EVE basics in a very well prepared format. Everything you'd need to know to start is in there, and the thing is, you don't have to read what you don't plan on doing; i.e. if you just want to PvP then ignore the mining stuff for now. Aside from the guide, I'd just say join a corp that accepts newbies and ask questions.
 
I suggest doing the tutorials that the game starts you off with as well. It touches on a bit of everything and gives you a very general and rough understanding of basics at least. Plus it is a good way for a noob to make some isk, get skills, ships, and some other stuff.

Yeah, the "new" tutorials are actually really good as far as tutorials go. You actually get some worthwhile newb stuff.
 
Another of the do the tutorial proponents here. They will get you some of the basic skillbooks, equipment, and ships. It will also get you about 1-2 million in isk (which will go a long way for a person starting out if you stick to the "don't fly what you can't afford to lose" (because you will lose it, especially if you don't like reading up on lots of things like the guides posted above so that you won't do noobie like things which get you quickly blown up by someone who has been playing for multiple years).

So back to topic, we just got war decced, but it is funny as can be. The corp that decced us is a brand new 4 person griefing corp, who wants 600mill by the end of the first week to go away (with 200mill more being added for each week we delay payment). I don't think he did his research on us, since the alliance is a wormhole alliance with 90+% of the members living full time in wormhole space or null. So the war started today and the few people we have in highsec ran locator agents on the CEO and told everyone the intel. Well, several people had an exit near where the CEO was and they hunted him down and got this nice kill:

An old friend noticed a few offline and quite loaded POSes in a nearby system. We streak across high sec in our smaller ships and the wreck havoc on the exposed modules.

Over 3B isk of loot drops, which means that more probably was destroyed in the arrays and hangers.

Not a bad start to the week for us.

Yep I missed that completely, but I did manage to make it out on our earlier roam where we took out this group about to run a L5 mission (I probed them out, and when I landed on them, they actually warped to the gate that the rest of the fleet was. They jumped to their death.)

And don't forget the Eve-Uni fied trip to the Eve-Gate. They brought 39 ships, but most were frigates. We killed most of the big stuff and caught a few of the little stuff as well. Too bad they didn't try to fight.

EVE Uni is an interesting group.. we actually got bored for a bit and dec'd them for a week. In the beginning of the week we'd pick 'em off as they strayed away from the blob; but then they must have gotten an order to not leave the fleet. We rarely got a fight for the second half of the week, we'd sit in their home system for 3-4 hours and they wouldn't undock, then when they would, it was 40+ ships at minimum to our... 6 frigs/HACs. It was interesting to read their SOPs/Wartime SOPs ... I know their primary concern is isk efficiency, which is why they only fly cheap t1 ships and have such an absurdly high amount of EWAR; but it just doesn't seem "fun" to me. Meh, to each their own.
