Evanescence

A year or so later, were they a fad or do they have staying power? I realized myself yesterday I never want to listen to them again.

I don't think they were ever good.

I liked that one single the first time I heard it, but it got old after a few plays... One of my friends bought their album and I didn't find any other songs on it that were worth listening to.

I still like them although I dont listen to the radio except for NPR so I dont get burnt out on songs like has likely happened to many people. They played like only two of their songs on the radio and probably played them once each hour for months on end. The radio is gay.

I was a huge fan at first, but I think I've realized there are MUCH BETTER bands out there.

I guess we'll see when their sophomore album comes out. It will probably sell huge numbers just because of the name, but the second album can sometimes be a band killer.

This is clearly a man of great taste and wisdom 🙂

I'm anxiously awaiting September 29'th when Nightwish will be paying Stockholm a visit.

Evanescence still rocks. I don't know WTF you people are talking about. All the songs on their CD are good.

There are a lot of better rock bands out there, but they have a few good songs.
Their music is too "depressive" for me, though.

I can't listen to them anymore. My old girlfriend would frequently leave the CD on repeat very softly while I slept over her place, and I would wake up and see her and hear the music faintly in the background. I can't listen to any of the songs without thinking of her.

they're not good, never were. there is this band called "Autumn" that i think is from denmark or something, they do the whole thing much much better than Evanescence imo.

I had to laugh when I was in the sheet music store the other day and saw the sheet music for Fallen. Drop-D, barre a fret and play. Worth $20? Hahaha.

I like them, and sometimes I listen to the CD, but I've just bought Nightwish -Once so that is played constantly ATM.
