Being able to write a book about killing Osama = priceless
Maybe you haven't heard about their code of silence. There will be no book.

Let's say the OBL's compound had a 2,000 pound bomb dropped on it. The SEALs going in did not know 100% that OBL was inside. Had a bomb destroyed everything, no one would know OBL's true fate. And this does send a clear message... Osama had minimal security and felt secure knowing no one was coming after him... if his cohorts were smart.. they would start realizing that unless they wanted to live in North Korea... they will be found.
Yeah but they can make bank when they leave the military and go into the private security field.

Navy SEALs Earn About $54,000 a Year, Even for Finding Osama Bin Laden
What did the Navy SEALs who cornered Osama bin Laden get for pulling off such a risky mission? Their weekly paychecks.
The estimated maximum salary for a Navy SEAL -- with over a dozen years of experience and an E-7 pay grade -- is about $54,000, according to an estimate based on data from the Department of Defense.
"Each of these operations is different, but we get the same amount of pay, so it's fair," said John Scorza, MC2, under the Naval Special Warfare Command.
That salary level is comparable to the average annual salary for teachers in the U.S., which was $55,350 for the 2009-2010 school year, according to the Digest of Education Statistics.
"Also note that military personnel may have more extensive benefits and on-base housing," said Lori Taylor, a professor at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. "But they work year 'round while teachers get 2 to 3 months off in the summer."
Though Navy SEALs are usually more experienced service members, the typical graduate of SEAL qualification training is 19 to 23 years old, said Lt. Cmdr. Fred Kuebler of U.S. Special Operations Command in Tampa, Fla.
A bit confusing as 54k is the maximum salary. I assume the Bin Laden heroes got less.
There's more at the link about what kind of benefits they get, etc.
Interesting. I really had no idea what a Seal makes.

By virtue of there being no shortage of SEALs, means that SEALs are not underpaid. I'm quite sure that the job satisfaction of being a SEAL is also very high. Why are you guys complaining if they're not complaining?
Cliffs: JS80 is an idiot.
And you're a fat fuck that works for the government.
1) Does anyone really care about his true fate? Did it make any difference?
2) Clear message of a bomb is sent, we will find you, and bomb the shit out of you. They would know if their leader was dead or not, same effect, just no PR for obama to ride on.
3) Who cares about collateral damage. Bombs send a clear message, if you harbor a enemy of the US, we will bomb the shit out of them and not give a shit about your people.
4) Bombing them has less risk to us. Who cares about people living in a country that isn't acting in our best interests anyways?
In the end, we killed one man and accomplished nothing of value. I don't see why this is a cause to parade around the news and media like we just saved the world.
I'm not complaining. I believe they're worth more.
19-23 and an E-7. I doubt it.
Do they get OT? I know police officers make a sh1t load on OTs

Maybe you haven't heard of Richard Marcinko, aka Demo Dick, the founding father of SEAL Team Six and his book Rogue Warrior?
