Newegg has the Eset NOD32 AntiVirus Home Edition 3.0 (OEM) for $30 with $15 code discount for email subscribers.

Use Code: ESET10115 = $15 with free shipping.

If you are not a subscriber, you can just sign up on the WWW site and then place the order.

Very effective AV with very low system resource use. I've used mine for about six months and it has been unobtrusive.

pardon my ignorance, but what does Norton has to do with NOD32? I though Eset and Symantec are supposed to be competitors in this sector... oh well :)

Not nearly as effective as this one.

Since this is an OEM version, it's probably tied to a single machine. That means if you ever upgrade your motherboard, you're screwed. Bzzzzzt! No sale!

No. When you get the discs it has a cd key, you enter that on esets site and it gives you a login and pass that you enter into the program for updates. I use nod32 on 4 comps at home, good program

And can you buy one copy to install on multiple computers or do you need to buy several copies?

They had this deal last year and I picked up a copy for around $20. I was able to install it on all 3 of my systems without any issue. Always updated the definitions without any problems.

My license jsut expired so this is a heck of a deal. :)

I'd like to know the same thing. Not been happy with Norton for a while now, and have 6 pc's in the house, and would buy a couple of copies if i could install it on more than one pc

Actually, if you look at multiple independent AV comparatives from roughly Q2/2007 to present, NOD32 has trended downward in the rankings and is frequently bested by products like AVG, AntiVir, Bit Defender, and even Norton, though none of them consistently beats NOD32. Norton has considerably improved in the past two versions, particularly v2008.

I repeat, I'm not talking about one comparative snap-shot, but multiple comparatives over time. NOD32 is still a good product, just not as consistently good as it used to be.

The code quit working prematurely as they added a forced combo deal to the item that killed the $15 promocode. Now it includes Search & Recover 5 for a total of $30 shipped for both.
