Someone who buys a car like that doesn't give a crap about gas milage. And it's an offshoot of the Avalanche. Not a Blazer or Envoy.

What would Jesus Drive?

Nissan Titan.

Edit: With a wacky tobaccy inspired paintjob.

Oh, don't forget that $55k will get you a C3 Sierra that does the 1/4 in 13.3 (only a 120MPH speed limiter though). iirc, it had a blown 6L that put out 550HP.

And that's not a wussed out truck, it can still haul stuff (and lots of it).

Although it's prohibitively expensive, Banks' Sidewinder project is bar none the fastest. It did 220MPH in Bonnevile after towing it's stuff to the track. W/ just a tire swap, it did 190MPH in the qualification runs. They were limited at 175 in the first run, and allowed to go 200 because the record at the time was around 160.

600HP, 1200LB/ft

Edit:
VTEC? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING VTEC!

$55k will get me a Silverado SS running right at the 4.0 second mark and running mid to low 12's in the 1/4. Much more functional, and WAAAAAAY cheaper.

It will also get you "in troubled" faster AND for less: Speeding Tickets, higher insurance, and drive you more quickly to the "Poor house" (in Cali, anyway) . . . 😉

(unless you have lots of $$$ AND like to piss people off - "priceless") 😛

What's the BRAKING DISTANCE on these Behemoths? I need to know in case I have to steer out of the way of an out-of-control Soccer Mom. :Q

riiiiiiiiight.....

Higher insurance? Pfffffft. In Iowa I'd be paying about $500 a year to insure that truck. Speeding tickets? Just because it accelerates fast, and can go real fast doesn't mean that it can't be a fairly well behaved daily driver. Besides, it'd be a track truck anyway. If I want to mash the go-pedal I'd do it with a light tree in front of me. The silverado SS is the same exact size and shape, and pretty much same body style as the other 500,000 C1500 GM pickups out there. Piss people off? Well there's 499,999 others out there doing just the same.

The Silverado SS that mentioned is going to be real close in breaking distance to the Ford Lightning which can come to a stop from 60MPH in about 129 feet. Not too shabby. In fact, that's probably better than your little old hyundai.

Again you meet sarcasm with "facts". Good for you in defending your choice (but SO unnecessary).

I really don't care what other people drive as long as they stay in their own lane. 😉

However, it is currently "in fashion" to make fun of SUVs (in case, you haven't notivced) . . . and I am not gonna buck THIS trend. 😛

I LIKE getting 35 MPG (highway/city) and I feel "secure enough" - due to my driving abilities - not having a "tank shell" around me to rely on . . . . . 🙂

55K in mods or 55k including truck? $2-3k worth of mods will get a Lightning into the low 12's. Don't need no stinking SS 😉

Including truck. Yeh, I know it's way more expensive than the "L", but for the $$ I'd get an invaluable extended cab and AWD that would at least allow me to drive it reasonably safely in inclement weather.

I'd never spend the money on it, but it's an option. Plus, you could probably ghetto it for $5k for a total of around $43-$45k instead of having Mr. Lingenfelter have a crack at it.
