That's hilarious; $92 for what's essentially a GM Envoy. The Escalade is laughable at best...this is just usury.

Yeah, yeah; engine mods, blah, blah, blah. The vehicle has almost zero off-road capabilty and it's too big to be considered "sporty."

$92K will get you a Ford F350 4x4 AND a Porsche Boxster. The best of both worlds.

Lingenfelter had a rather impressive Suburban a few years back that they tweaked the hell out of. I don't remember any numbers but they were in the 3's or 4's for 0-60. The main problem was finding tires that could withstand the stress of driving a 5500lb+ monster at 165+mph without melting.

Envoy? Wha? Isn't that more Blazer sized? I thought this is like a Silverado or Suburban platform...

0-60 times are FAR from everything. Anything with big displacement will have an impressive 0-60 time; after that though, does it run out of steam quickly?

The quarter mile and 0-100-0 times are what impress me. I realize that the latter isn't an industry standard, but rather something cooked up by Carrol Shelby with his Cobra, but you will see plenty of sports car reviews quoting a 0-100-0 time.

Who really cares?

Unless you own one.

As owner of a small car, I am MUCH more concerned with its "braking distance". ;)

Did you read the link?

No the Envoy was the next step up from the Blazer if I remember correctly.

Right, they call it a "mid-sized" SUV...the Escalade EXT is much larger.

You can make it from one gas station to the next on one tank. If you get the optional fuel trailer tank, you can increase the range to 100 miles, at the expense of performance though.

is it just me or is that 107mph trap speed slow for a 12.38 ? Shouldn't it be closer to 120mph?

Perhaps it's due to the huge power for quick acceleration + sh!tty aerodynamics that produce a quick 0-60 where drag isn't a big factor and a slower top end...

damnit the envoy and the blazer are the same thing, along with the olds bravada! they're all compact, ert, midsized SUVs

this is an avalanche. which is based on the suburban platform, which doesn't share enough parts with the full sized pickup to count as the same vehicle for crash tests. (the durango shared enough with the dakota that dodge didn't have to crash test it)

*shrug* So it's does a fast quarter mile. Still not work $92K IMO. But, I look at it this way; if you've got $92K burning a hole in your pocket and can spend it w/o batting an eye, then I guess this vehicle is as good as any. :wine:
