Santa Monica is a mix of extreme wealth and hopeless poverty. Lots of homeless and lots of people coming in to work low wage jobs serving the beautiful people. The split between the haves and havenots is hard to miss. Add the lockdown and things heat up.

Looks like the driver was playing the dumbest game of chicken, and some of the protesters called his bluff. He's an absolute moron and he needs to go behind bars for awhile. The slime-ball reporter on Twitter falsely claiming that a crowd was "plowed into" isn't helping to deescalate things either.

I love it when right-wing authoritarians act like protesters are the same as rioters.

Protests are honeypots for agent provocateurs.

If the police gave a shit about people and property, instead of getting to whip out their riot gear in their fascist cosplay, they'd just be monitoring the back of the protests where the shitbags are, and grabbing them as they start provoking riots.

Instead, they dress up in their fascist cosplay and on occasion shoot innocent protesters because they're right-wing authoritarian scum fucks.
 
They are looting everything in Long Beach. Protest police misconduct peacefully. I don't see how destroying your own community solves anything...
