A quote from Epson;
"The printer will automatically stop working when there is no more safely usable ink in the cartridge," Epson explains in a written statement. The company says users get all the ink they pay for, because Epson charges for cartridges based on usable ink volume and printed pages per cartridge".
Who believes that a portion of the ink Epson puts in it's cartridges is "free"? They would like us to believe that they fill that cartridge with ink, but only charge us for what we can actually use. Uh-huh.
I have a C80, and have many times removed an "empty" cartridge that when shaken, felt to be half full. I wish I had a scale that would measure the weight of a full versus "empty".
If they are concerned about print head "damage", all that would be needed is to have ink down in the well in the bottom of the cartridge holder. The printer will refuse to print anyway, so why would any more than that be needed.
I should say that I am not involved in the suit and have no intentions of becoming involved. This said, it is wrong for me to be required to replace a half full ink cartridge just to continue printing.
For any C80 owners out there that belong to Costco, be sure to check out their price on cartridges. Not on line, only in the stores.
