Eh. Calling a Wii "current day hardware" is a stretch. It's only "current" because a successor hasn't come out.Your friend could easily think that he made off like a bandit by trading a 3 generations old gaming PC for current day hardware.
If the OP wasn't really using the Wii, and filled a need by trading it, I'd say that's a good enough reason to call it a good trade. "Epic win" is a stretch.
