I say, fuck this!

What was the motivation behind this declaration? The people aren't taking to the "greenies" enough so for the Obama administration to pass the laws they twist the EPA's arm?

Seriously, we are being killed in the global economy because manufacturers just move to countries without regulations. So the plan to rebuild the workforce here is to drive out even more businesses?

The world is not perfect. It never will be perfect.

If this were based on true science, maybe I would support it. But I'll bet dollars to donuts it's purely a political move.

"We don't have the authority to do what we want, so we will just change the rules of the game"

You might want to wait for something tangible to come of this before you put your head through a wall in pointless outrage.

I didn't think making a single post on an internet forum was equivalent to "putting your head through a wall in pointless outrage" :p

Fixed

You love that ever expanding oppressive government when it's fulfilling your own agendas, which is why your protests fall on deaf ears.

Next in news, EPA declares cows as terrorists and all farm owners as harborers of terrorist activity, allowing the seizure of all farms.

I don't really see a problem with this. Sure, greenhouse gasses are a bad thing when there become too large a percentage of our atmosphere. Nobody wants to remove all the water, carbon dioxide, etc. from the atmosphere in mass quantities. They play an important role in keeping us warm at night, and we cannot live without them. All the EPA is stating is the obvious - too much of anything is bad for you. As a civilization, we need to get a handle on preserving our environment, and that includes limiting (but not eliminating) greenhouse emissions to keep them within certain desired levels in the atmosphere. You have to have a long-term outlook as Earth is the only planet we've got right now....better hold on to it.

I wonder if we can regulate volcanoes
Volcanoes release more than 130 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere every year.

...and?

and he is a ball sack bobble head with nair a real thought.

No. In fact, it's just the opposite. If you die, you stop breathing and farting. They're trying to allow you to continue farting. If you happen to be human, it would help you to continue breathing, too.

Ahh yes the familiar theme from the Man Made Global Warming Bibles Book of Revelation.
A question I have for those of that faith. When does Gore die and rise from the dead?

I say bring it on. I can afford the higher costs, and a low degree of concern for those whom this does hurt most as they're typically liberal constituents anyway like union members in smokestack industries who will lose their jobs.

So EPA is finally implementing the Clean Air Act as written? I like it when agencies obey the law.

CO2 doesn't hurt people, in fact it is released by people every time the breath and is required for plants to grow and make us food etc. So I don't really see where it falls under the Clean Air Act except as a political jesture to forward the liberals hatred of big business.

Clean Air Act, Sec 302:

(g) The term ??air pollutant?? means any air pollution agent or
combination of such agents, including any physical, chemical, biological,
radioactive (including source material, special nuclear material,
and byproduct material) substance or matter which is emitted
into or otherwise enters the ambient air. Such term includes
any precursors to the formation of any air pollutant, to the extent
the Administrator has identified such precursor or precursors for
the particular purpose for which the term ??air pollutant?? is used.
(h) All language referring to effects on welfare includes, but is
not limited to, effects on soils, water, crops, vegetation, man-made
materials, animals, wildlife, weather, visibility, and climate, damage
to and deterioration of property, and hazards to transportation,
as well as effects on economic values and on personal comfort and
well-being, whether caused by transformation, conversion, or combination
with other air pollutants.

The Clean Air Act, as written in 1970, clearly requires EPA to regulate pollutants that may affect climate.

Furthermore, the 1990 amendments to the Clean Air Act state:

Sec 702(15) in order to stabilize and eventually reduce concentrations of chlorine and bromine in the stratosphere, to conserve the stratospheric ozone layer (an exhaustible natural resource), and to reduce the extent of global climate change--
...
Sec 702(15)(C) emissions of other gases, such as methane and carbon dioxide, should be controlled;

EPA simply needs to follow the law as written.

EPA has already determined that this is the case so they are required to regulate emissions. EPA is required to use best available science, not radio talk show hosts, in making such determinations.

They couldn't figure out a framework to tax breathing, so they're doing the next best thing. That is to set up the framework to tax exhaling, any energy usage, and using anything you can't walk to in order to obtain ready to use.

All production that uses more than hand tools and all distribution other than by foot will be heavily taxed.
