Super Star Destroyer is like a thousand times larger is it not?

I don't see how a few pesky torpedoes could hope to ever take it down.

A regular Star Destroyer might make for more of a fight.

The torpedoes can explode with multi megaton yields.

I am somewhat leery walking into this nerd fight, but I did want to chime in with my one pro-Star Wars opinion.

The Star Wars universe (in the movies at least) happen a long time ago, whereas the Star Trek universe is future technology. Therefore if you put the two universes on equal time-scales then I think it can be reasonable to assume the Star Wars universe would ultimately be far more advanced. However I suppose it is possible that by advancing the Star Wars universe to the future would yield a galaxy that managed to wipe itself out of existence.

Says the Super Star Destroyer is about 17KM long

The Enterprise is around 300 meters long

Shields and weapons are irrelevant. Darth Vader would simply choke the shit out of the entire Enterprise crew the moment they hailed him. Everyone knows this.

this

But then Data, who would survive such a thing, would destroy blow the Star Destroyer to hell

i'd like to see your shields defend you from a solid projectile moving at a significant fraction of light speed.

That's what the navigational shields are designed for.

I'd say the Enterprise. Here's why:

1) Federation weapons have people who know how to aim wielding them.
2) Transporters.
a) One away team can take care of any given threat, but will inevitably always lose one of its members. Everyone knows this.
b) Useful for beaming in Future-WMD. Photon torpedoes are antimatter based, iirc.
3) The Federation eventually develops time-travel tech. The SW Empire does not.
4) George Lucas

A regular Star Destroyer might make for more of a fight.
Two A-Wings blew up its shield generator with a few blaster hits, then another A-Wing smashed into the bridge, disabling the ship.

I think two torpedoes should do the trick.

One blaster shot from an A-wing will obliterate the Enterprise. Just the power levels simply cannot be compared. ST universe is childsplay in SW. :p :p

Yeah; based on some wattage figures I saw, Boba Fett's Slave I ship's reactor generates more power than a Galaxy Class starship. :laugh:

Maybe Watt was a very different person in the Star Wars galaxy.

yeah, because you can react fast enough to warp out of the way of something travelling at .2x+ the speed of light...

light = 3.0x10^8 m/s, right?

fight happening at let's give generous estimates, 3k kilometers...

so 3000000.

3000000/300000000 =? 1/100 of a second? x5 of course. significant fraction, not full speed. 1/20th of a second.

after them firing, you have 1/20th of a second before that slug rips through your hull, strait through your whole ship.

GL with that.

<nerdhat>
in ST:TNG, Data reacts quickly enough to defeat the Picard Manoeuvre. Picard, in the Stargazer, moved at warp 9 and Data tractor beamed him right as he came out of warp. I'm sure objects moving slower than light would not be a problem.

Couldn't the enterprise rape the ssd by just making high speed passes at warp speed and launching photon torpedoes at the ssd's bridge?

</nerdhat>

data's reaction to the picard maneuver was to fire a tractor beam and lock it into position. doesnt need reaction time.

besides, you're talking about an entire starship moving sideways by at least half its beam. it's not gonna happen.

Honor Harrington will kick their butts with her ships of the Wall. Neither can stand that missle mass with ECM.

Picard sends a text to Kevin who kicks the borg, the force, the SSD, the fufu enterprise, the real enterprise, the x-wings, the Yamato (and I like the Yamato), the Jupiter, the necromancers, the bugs, the starship troopers, Robby, and the Krell all the way to hell.
