I also picked up a warranty on both my wife's rings from Kay's. As long as I keep the paper work, or can remember the store I purchased it from, they will repair the ring no questions asked. Shes actually lost one of the side stones back when she ran a Muelling machine (folders paper into small books, and requires tons of fine tuning) when she was younger. They replaced the stone no problem.

Shane co's warranty covers like everything, like if my gf falls and the ring hits the ground or something really hard and the diamond comes out, shane co will replace the diamond and ring no questions ask.

Insurance will do something similar. If my fiance's ring gets lost, damaged, stolen, whatever, they'll replace it.

Think mine was around $120 for the year.

What's a diamond warranty?

And you don't really need a diamond warranty. What you need is an appraisal and a rider on your home owners insurance/renters insurance for the entire ring.

Riders can be expensive, however; most 'diamond warranties' are due to paying way too much in the beginning for it.

There are a lot of caveats, but one can break a diamond or damage it.

You really have to know what you are being covered for.

I bought my fiancee's engagement ring from Jared. We also purchased our wedding bands from Jared. The wedding band she picked out is actually designed for the engagement ring to slide in the middle. It will then be soldered together to be one complete ring.

I'm looking at rings now --- maybe 5k range? No idea really -- question is does it make sense/is it a thing to put these on 0% APR CC's? I'd feel better doing ~$500 a month rather than 5k all at once.

I get offers all the time for these kinds of cards and have thought about getting one for some big furniture purchases anyway.

As long as it's a major CC and you know you won't slip up (late payment, not paid in full before 0% expires), I think that's OK.

Agreed. Bonus if its a miles card that gives you additional bonus if you spend $xxxx in the first month-90 days.

Bought the ring used on Craigslist, sold the center stone, and upgraded to a stone that more suited me. Traded in the accent stones at the original jeweler for 1:1 trading to slightly better accents on some of them (though most of the accents were already fine).

Saved about 3 grand, and ended up with something that she ended up being overwhelmingly happy with. Wedding ring will simply be accent rings for the engagement ring. I couldn't imagine buying two whole separate rings just like she couldn't imagine wearing that many.
