I've been jobless and broke for the last month or so, so I haven't been able to buy any. Before that, I was drinking at least 2 a day.

I still have cravings. I start my new job tomorrow, and I just said to myself that the first thing I'm going to do when I get my first paycheck is go buy one.

That's awful. It's worse than being addicted to marijuana. At least with that, it sucks for a few days and then you're fine. It's been over a month! Christ. Liquid crack!
 
mmm, a necessary evil at times. About to crack open one right now. Stupid Russian test that I'm destined to fail tomorrow. Argh why did I choose a major that required foreign language?! Well, first why did I enroll in a major that's has a bachelor of arts and sciences? (required through 104 in language), and then on top of that choose a major that requires 2 additional classes over 104?!!! I'm retarded. :laugh:
 
ive been battling with the energy drink addiction for years... my flavor is currently Full Throttle. Its been weeks since i had one, but the cravings never go away.

gotta disagree about the pot thing though...
 
Vitamin Energy-Dragonfruit is my new weapon of choice. sweetened with cane sugar! it's the best-for-you energy drink i have found. next would be Full throttle Blue Dragon.

Well, it was the only thing I could really liken it to. I could always go for a bowl, but I don't crave it incessantly. Every time I want to drink something, I think of an energy drink. It's terrible! lol
 
Has there been any medical evidence that those things are bad for you(like cancer or alzheimer's or anything)? Or just caffeine intoxication, which to me is meaningless.
I desperately want to drink those effers all the time cuz they work, but don't want shrivelled balls in three years.
 
I buy Monsters by the case at Costco, when I get any other energy drinks it is usually the Blue Rockstars or the coffee Rockstars/Monsters.

I am literally drinking a blue Monster right now, I love these damn things!!!

And I don't even drink em for the energy, I just like the taste, and the buzz is a nice after affect.

If you were addicted to caffeine, you'd have withdrawal for maybe 5 days, a headache, upset stomach, foggy thinking. Then your fine. You could also taper down your caffeine and avoid all of the above. IMO you just like the taste. Enjoy.

I was drinking redbull for awhile but they were expensive so now I just drink coffee. Try coffeeee!!!
 
I've been "dry" for a couple months - I was drinking 2-3/day and would feel crappy/hung over if I didn't; eventually I realized that I really wasn't even getting the "high" anymore. I'd have to down a Red Bull or two to feel 'normal'. Screw that.

It's an expensive (and mostly pointless) habit.

I love coffee, and do drink it. There has to be more to it than just that.

It's probably the sugar and the specific chemical signature. Taurine, guarana, all the B vitamins... It's a different kick than coffee gives.
 
I hate the taste of those energy drinks.
Half of them taste like I'm drinking chemicals and not a beverage.
I'll stick to drinking chocolate.

Agreed, nasty shit. I've tried two kinds and they were both too sweet and disgusting.

I'd rather drink delicious coffee.

I get 4-packs of the Monster 16oz cans for $6 at Wal*Mart. I spread a pack out over a couple weeks.

Right now I have a remaining can of Monster M-80 (80% fruit juice) in the refrigerator here at work and this thread is making me want it.
 
Nos has the most caffeine of any energy drink I've seen (260mg), but that's about as much as one caffeine pill. Energy drinks are just sugar and caffeine, which is why it never seeks to amaze me that there are sugar-free energy drinks and caffeine-free energy drinks.
