Heh, thanks for beta testing the key gen and download process 🙂. Judging from the responses, it sounded like the keys would be gone in minutes, but I just now came into this thread, figured what the hell, and got my key with no issues.
 
Not bad - tomorrow night I'll try to play as the Strogg. The controls aren't quite what I'm used to with ET, but that's to be expected.
 
I'm having fun but the 3-day lead they gave the subscribing idiots gave them a big lead.

I still managed to be the best Soldier/Aggresor most of the time.

If I knew how to play I might be the best whatever in whatever role. They don't make it real easy for noobs to figure out what the hell is going on, lol.

i was able to pick up pretty quickly - i've gotten best field ops or soldier in several games (in addition to most teamkills 😀 they're all accidents, i swear!)

anyway, i'm sold on this game. i LOVE field ops. blowing the $hit out of everyone and everything is glorious!!!! 😀😀

So how did you get the key?

It seems I'm stuck in a silly loop with their site...do you need to be a paid subsrriber?

EDIT: So I gather I need to wait until "announced" becomes "something else" to get a key?

Just need to be a 'member', not a paid subscriber.

On the second question, yes. I don't know when it will happen today. While you're waiting, you can download the beta client.

Just keep on trying...I had to refresh and resubmit like 30 times...

 
I'm running in Vista, although I had extreme wait issues installing the damn thing. I double-clicked on the icon, and got the half mouse/half spinning circle cursor that said it was working. This lasted literally atleast 5 minutes, and I thought that I was going to have to restart the comp. It finally started the install program, and during particular parts of the installation, it would pause for minutes at a time. It eventually installed fine, though, and technically on the first try 🙂.

I hopped into one game this morning, but there were jackasses spawn killing their own teammates. I lasted for about 2 minutes before I got completely pissed and quit.

most people teamkill during the warmup period. it's fun for the first few seconds, then it jsut gets annoying cause i actually want to play
 
Well, got my key yesterday.
Today I'm finally downloading the client.

Torrent is much faster then fileplanet (i'm downloading from a torrent at 400+kB/s, and I'm still waiting in line for Fileplanet (for 15 minutes)).

I hate fileplanet so much (but sort of like them for the key 😛)
Filefront is SOOO much better. Free account there gets instant access (not waiting) at 500+kB/s. I often get over 1mB/s at filefront. Someone should've posted the file there.
