The keys for subscribers went up early today: http://www.fileplanet.com/beta...neakpeek_subs_key.aspx

You have to be kidding. I checked over and over and over all day long :|
It wasn't official. You had to know about that URL in the first place.

So annoying. I am a subscriber and I signed up for every possible notification (from Fileplanet and the Quake Wars site), but never heard anything about this. :|

Yeah, but it asks for system specs to see if you meet requirements. The specs are totally outdated, but if I pick everything as high as possible, it still says "Your hardware does not meet the requirements for the QUAKE Wars beta. Be sure to check with FilePlanet for future, more accessible beta programs."

What a complete load of crap! My system blows away anything it lists in its pulldown menus, but it says I don't meet requirements. Freaking joke! :disgust:

Weird- the same thing happened to me. My specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E6420, XFX Nforce 650i Ultra MB,2GB DDR2 RAM, 500 GB HDD, Creative X-Fi Fata1ity

I kept going back and trying again, but it still wouldn't work. Then I ran CCleaner tried again- believe it or not, it worked. I'm downloading it now.

Doesn't make sense- I wouldn't have believed it had I not tried it.

Thanks! I cleared all of my internet crap out manually (no CC at work unfortunately) and I got my key.

Now to just get home and download the client!

Cheers,

Supposedly 1/2 of the 60,000 will be available for free subscribers but I don't believe those have been released yet.

it's not subscriber only - they're releasing it in phases. first "sneak peek" was for new annual subscribers. initial release (today) is for subscribers, and *supposedly* on friday, it will be open to free fileplanet members.

i can't wait to get this :D (assuming i can!)

Eh, I guess I'll have to wait for a key. Last time I subscribed to FP for the WoW beta, it was an absolute disaster. I'll have to get it via torrent for now.

And wtf is the point of keys for a free beta, anyway?

To:

1) Limit the number of people playing (since id is supplying all the servers)
2) Test the key/account system
3) Prevent people from easily creating multiple accounts and then going on a rampage of annoyance.

This is fun! There are over 80 servers up. Gameplay can be fast and brutal. I dont have enough time to play more but i am impressed! GFX is awesome!

How does it run @ what resolution & what system specs do you have?

Fraps can tell what fps you're running.

AMD FX55
Asus A8N32-SLi Delux
2GB Ram
EVGA 8800 GTX 768MB
3x Seagate 500GB 7200RPM Sata.
Creative Audigy Gamer 2

1600x1200

All settings on the highest except. AA 8x AF 16

I average 55+ FPS. Its dipped into the 30s a few times when alot of explosions where going off.
Vehicles so far are easy to use. Joint ops style for the land based. I havnt found an aircraft yet.

I talked to a few guys using A64 3200-3800 with 6800-7900s and they are running smooth fps to.
It seams like it scales realy well.
Classes are balanced very well to.

Ive noticed that you get stuck on cliffs. Not letting you jump off. Also a few of the vehicles clip when they move about the map. Other than that I havnt seen anything that cant be fixed really quick.

P.S The 4 Wheelers rock! :)

i don't think its going to change much. isn't it being released next month? i doubt they'll change gameplay drastically enough to make it any better.
