the list you have is great but items such as throwing knife and slingshot while usefull are worthless unless you are good at them.

i would rather carry a regular bow then a crossbow. they are lighter and just as deadly.

some good arrows will last a long time and usefull for big game or small.

a magnifiyign glass is going to be a pain to use to start a fire. there are other more usefull things that are just as small.

also if its "end of world" type situation there is going to be enouhg firewood. those fire logs i wouldnt use to cook etc.

but it really depends on if you are going to stay or travel.

A quality rifle and Ammo, and lots of it. - Then you can take what you need from the idiots carrying around slingshots.

cut it in half and it's more realistic.

Right, with a focus on things that in the end would be truly useful.

Rifle/pistol + lots of ammo
Firestarting tools
Medical supplies.
SALT(no refrigeration)
A couple sets of good shoes
Warm clothing
Seeds to plant crops

I could think of a few more but those are some of the real basics...actually if you want a good idea of what you might need, read Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank, its a little outdated but in an end of the world situation our modern world cease to exist anyways.

Seriously though, a paint ball gun? No. That would be almost worthless. I would rather have a pump BB gun and 10,000 BBs.

Forget the fire logs, way too big and heavy. Instead, get some fire starters. Small, wax soaked sticks of the same composition. Waterproof. Fire logs turn into a pile of mushy sawdust if they get wet.

Flint and steel in addition to the magnifying glass; much easier to start a fire with, especially with no sun. ;)

I would definitely carry some batteries, but realistically, anything that uses them would become worthless given enough time.

Rechargeable batteries and a solar charger would be a worthwhile investment.

I have a solar AA battery charger that I bought 15 years ago that still works great.
