The problem with all this stuff is that, realistically, you wouldn't be able to go anywhere with it. You wouldn't be able to carry even 1/3rd of it on your person, and the idea of a truck or van is laughable, depending on the exact circumstances. If you're running for the hills, you better get there and set up shop quickly, because once you run out of fuel, you are stuck.

And if you have a truck, you may as well include a fully gassed up chainsaw and another 20 gallons of fuel. If you were really running to the hills, other people would be able to go where you are going via roads. No problem if they're friendly, big problem if they want to take all your supplies. I would probably find somewhere secluded, then start felling trees over the road to help prevent others from finding you.

OTOH, that could alert others to your presence, and even bite you in the ass if you had to leave in an emergency.

Hmm...

where did the bouncy ball come from?

Coleman stove and lantern. Lots of Coleman fuel.

I just noticed that you have no firearms. Really? I don't think that's a good idea.

I would have at least a .22 and 10,000 rounds. That would be much more useful than the paintball gun or sling shot, IMO.

But, just like batteries, you would eventually run out of ammo. I like the crossbow/normal bow idea, and I suppose even a sling shot would be useful in the event of running out of ammo.

The key here is to think sustainability. Don't get fancy. You would need a basic, but high quality .22 that wouldn't break down in any way...

I guess you might as well add a truck to this list too.

Just get a knife, an elastic and a piece of rope then you can live McGyver style.

Do they make one that you don't have to plug in? Because that could be a problem.

What's the unladen ground speed of your average zombie anyway? Would a Segway even be able to outrun one?

I was going to say 20,000.

Hence the .22. I don't know how much 10,000 rounds would weigh, or how much space it would take up, but it would be a necessity. I would rather carry a .22 and 10,000 rounds than a paintball gun, sword, and throwing knife.

so you going to carry 10k rounds of .22?

a gun is not needed to survive. would it be helpfull? sure but not at the expense of other items.

i sure in the hell wouldnt. granted a paintball gun and sword is kinda silly. carry a nice hatchet or axe both of wich would be usefull. a throwing knife? sure only if you are damn good at it

I guess 10,000 rounds may be a little excessive?

5,000 doesn't sound like very much though. I guess you're right, you don't need a gun to survive.. But I would think in the immediate aftermath, it would be absolutely necessary, if nothing else for self defense. A LOT of people are going to have guns, and guns a lot more powerful than a .22.

A normal bow and a bunch of arrows would probably be more useful in the long run. But it sure would be nice to be able to kill your food easily, at least for the first year.

What does a 500rnd brick of .22LR weigh anyway? 2lbs? 3lbs? That's 20 bricks of ammo so you're talking 40-60lbs just in ammo.

Yeah, I guess that's pretty silly.

It would only work if you had a camp or vehicle.

I think that a .22 and even 1,000 rounds would be fairly invaluable at first. You could carry that.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned sunscreen. With all the useless crap the OP mentioned in his survival list you'd think sunscreen would at least be on there.

A paintball gun? Man, talk about worthless...Dude, WTF were you thinking?

I think your best plan of attack would be to have multiple caches spread out over many miles. A gun might not only keep you from being killed, it would be the best means of obtaining more protein.
