I hope none of you buy any toys for anyone. At all. Ever.

Yes, and we buy oil from the Middle East, so let us celebrate women being 2nd class citizens, and the stoning of raped women and persecution of gays!

Are you guys really that afraid of communism? Really? Who gives a shit what color the Empire State Building is.

Not afraid of communism, just think China doesn't deserve to be honored for the systematic destruction of human rights.

Do most people have a choice you idiot? I try not to buy shit from that useless country if I don't have to but there are times you simply cannot avoid it.

I too do my best to avoid buying any goods marked "Made in China," but we all know that there are many categories of goods where we have no "non-Chinese" options.

There is a huge fucking difference between fear of communism and celebrating a country that is KNOWN for it's crimes to humanity.

Seriously, the Navy fucked you up so bad your head doesn't work right anymore.

Yeah, as long as the assembly is done in the US, right? Because you are not going over each and every chinese part checking the serial number against a database.

Just understand that "made in the xxx" doesn't mean shit anymore.

We lost the industrial wars a long time ago and the only thing we can do about it is to get better at something else, that goes for both of our nations.

Although the Robin Reliant was the greatest car ever built!

Agreed, no one should celebrate Maoism dominating a country's politics.

Most people who say this I find actually mean that there are no ECONOMICAL "non-Chinese" options for some products, which just means the line is drawn a little above everyone else. Kind of like bitching about the environment and then driving in a mini suv instead of a full sized.

How expensive do you look in the product you're going for before you decide there are only Chinese options?

Try as hard as I may, I can't find computer parts, electronics, televisions, etc. that aren't made in China...other than a few low-quality brands made in Korea.

For the most part, I'm willing to pay the premium for goods made in the USA, followed by goods made in Europe, Japan, or almost any other "free country," before I buy products made in China.

Also, as JoS pointed out, many goods "Made in the USA" contain components or materials made in China or other countries...the labels are often very mis-leading.

You misunderstood. The "Their" in the quote refers to the communist party, not the people.

"I hate 'dem A-rabs and them red Chinese" said John Q. American as he drove down the interstate in his 15MPG Chevy Suburban talking on his Chinese-made cell-phone.

Yeah, that's an important distinction. This is to celebrate the 60 anniversary of communist chinese regime, run by bunch of dictators resulted in things like great leap forward and cultural revolution that killed millions of chinese and F'ed up chinese culture completely.

Until today, they are sorry bunch of gov who don't respect personal freedom and think everyone should operates for the interests of selected few in CCP.

So this is not to honor chinese people, this is to honor chinese communist party. If Chinese people know better without all the brain washing bullshit, they'd be saying honoring a sorry leadership like CCP is a slap in the face of chinese ppl.

And just because it says 'Made in America' does not mean it actually is.

When I worked for AST Computers years ago, we'd take a fully assembled laptop, insert CPU and harddrive and call it made in america when it was actually made in tiawan and just had two or three parts installed that just required the removal of 1 or 2 screws to install.

This has already been addressed, and IMO, your company was committing fraud.
"ASSEMBLED in the USA from imported/foreign components" is different than "Made in the USA."
