over reaction? you don't pull this kind of crap on the day of a major disaster. they could have edited it out. Even the program director said they should not have aired it.
but yet they even re-ran it on the west coast.

Yet they had 12+ hours to cancel the skit / make a new one / put up a black bground with some scrolling text explaining the situation.
