okay ive been reading around some sites and a lot of it mentions EMI whenever its talking about install a motherboard into the case, what does it do, and is there instructions on the MB or case manual about how to do it?
 
EMI = Electro Magnetic Interference

Only relevance I know of that has to do with EMI and motherboards would be the BIOS option to enable/disable Spread Spectrum.

Enabling Spread Spectrum eliminates EMI so that it doesn't affect other components inside of a case that may be sensitive to EMI.
 
Some sites may erroneously refer to EMI as static electricity, mentioning that you should be properly grounded to avoid sending a static discharge from your fingers to the motherboard, which could potentially kill some circuitry.

EMI, what Algere was talking about, is a sort of magnetic frequency given off by certain electronic equipment that can mess with other electronic equipment or signals nearby. But some sites will use "EMI" to describe static discharge when working in your computer.

So, to avoid static discharge, always discharge your body on the inside of the computer chassis or on the power supply by touching the metal. You can also invest in a static-grounding wrist strap.
