I'm preparing to take no responsibility for myself and assume the government will take care of me. What could go wrong?

Some MREs and canned goods under the stairs. Enough to last a week on alone. Would like to get that up to 4 weeks plus get a gun.

Not that I think a Mad Max type environment will come about, just that if things continue to get bad that extra food and protection will be MUCH MUCH MUCH harder to find.

Lots of guns and ammo.

I'm going to pull a Katrina and rape and pillage whatever I need. If you don't have a way of protecting what you have, it has now become mine.

One three day multi-state blackout was all it took for us to take this seriously. It would have gotten real interesting if it had gone on for a couple of weeks.

Very similar to what I have but thousands of rounds. When power goes out for more than a day or it's wide spread people start getting real freaky and desperate. That's when I started making sure I had some level of preparedness and a means to defend what I had.

Also have extra full propane tanks.

I'm prepared for the zombie apocalypse but I'd be screwed in case of the robot apocalypse.

Do what I did, purchase a vial of zombie salavia. Then you can start a zombie infestation to fight off the robots and then clean up the zombies afterwards.

I'm in charge of powersystems at work, so some of the demo products have made their way into my basement. We can watch a 19" TV and power a floor lamp and an Internet router for 6 hours 🙂 We've also got water and canned goods stocked away, some cash, and I keep 10 gallons of gas in the garage.

My wife has a 9mm Sig-Sauer too from her police days. We're set 🙂

i've read the zomebie survival guide. i'm ready. are you?

Very good guide! Max Brooks is awesome.
You may wish to consider "How to Survive a Robot Uprising" as well, it's by a different author, and not nearly as informative, however, still an excellent (and useful) read.

Yeah, I just bought a ventless propane heater for the garage and a couple of tanks. I guess it would keep the upstairs warm if the gas was turned off. I Un-hardwired my furnace (added an extra box so that the power goes through about 10 inches of 10 gauge flexible cord and plug) so that I can power it with the generator.

I might have a thousand rounds sitting around at any one time, but I never dip into those last two hundred.

After a couple of days of that blackout I looked over at the wife and said that in a couple of weeks we might have to stand guard over the water garden, it being the only source of drinking water after the couple of cases of bottled water ran out.

Not a whole lot here in my dorm room. But back home, we have a gun safe full of weapons/ammo, a pantry with plenty of canned food, and a wood-burning stove. And my dad (he's an EE) could build a generator.

I have enough water for a month, food for three or four
Heat for three weeks, crank radio, flashlights and candles
Ability to protect myself
If it goes beyond that ,we've pretty much got into disease pestulence and famine where who knows wtf could happen.

357 Magnum and a few boxes of rounds.

What will you eat on day two?

I have easily enough canned and dry goods to last for a couple of weeks ....

Also, I don't think I would have too hard of a time turning to cannibalism
