Embarassing EA programming in NCAA 09

Considering that I don't run around in circles like an idiot when I play, I've not had any major problems with the game. I can see it getting frustrating online, though, since there are so many people already cheating because it makes their pants tight.

With EA buying exclusive liscenses for about every major sport, sports games in general have gone down the crapper.

That is hilarious...and as pur said, as bad as Tecmo Bowl. Winning play? Bomb to a receiver you can't even see on the screen...guaranteed TD everytime.

That link is blocked at work--anyone have a working mirror off a mainstream site, or just an explination of what happened?

Apparently running in circles confuses the defensive AI and this guy just kept doing it so they eventually got tangled up in blocks and ran it in for an easy TD.

Another good question. That depends of course. If he set the CPU sliders it does nothing. The only way to modify the CPU sliders is by modifying the Human sliders.

WTG EA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways for those who cant view the link. The RB goes to the left, then rolls all the way to the right. Runs in circles for about 20 seconds, then rolls all the way to the left, does another circle then runs down the field traversing back to the right only to do more circles at about the 15 yard line before finally running in.

The whole time nearly the entire defense mimics his circles but never closes on him. Quite pathetic but no surprise given how bad this years NCAA is.

That's pretty funny stuff. Should I assume the Madden AI will be the same? I hope not because I was getting excited for that game, though I guess I could still have fun with it.

Don't run in fucking circles and you'll be fine. I can't stand EA bashers who pick apart their football games like this. If you have to go out of your normal gameplay mechanics to do something, then it should be a non-issue.

Besides, there's plenty else wrong with NCAA 09 to point out, not this piece of shit video. If you want to complain about the game, complain about the messed up return game, or the sometimes horrible pursuit angles and speed curves where defensive backs will run right side-by-side with you because they are trying to cut you off by the time you reach the end of the parking lot (Example: http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/video/36817).

I tried to replicate this - even picked the same 2 teams - and I cannot. I'm not sure what play he called on defense or offense, or what he set sliders to, but I couldn't match the results.

The game is a bit buggy with the stupid roster name glitch, "too good" kick/punt return blocking AI, and a sketchy online play system. But overall it's a solid football game and an improvement over last year. I don't see the big deal.

The thing with NCAA is that they made the best football game ever 5 years ago, and it has been on a pathetic downward spiral ever since. I really shouldn't say spiral though because apparently the football doesn't spiral in this game.

This is where misinformation comes into play. The only instance where the ball did NOT spiral was in the PS3 demo ONLY. Just the demo, and just on the PS3, that's it. In the full retail versions, this is nowhere to be found. It was a bug they knew about but didn't have time to fix before releasing the demo a month ahead of retail launch.

EDIT: However, the rest of your post that I didn't quote, you're more than entitled to your opinion. 🙂
