The shit show continues.

Elmo has created a new party, called The Billionaire Party .. or something.

Disclaimer: there is no paper work yet so it may just be another fantasy bender

edit:
Wonder how fast Elmo is on his way back to SA.

Denaturalization of "national security"... when his government ends, he will be the first in line no matter if he born in America due his heritage.

Another political party ruled by a nutty, narcissistic billionaire and their interests? I don't thinks so. Can we please bar billionaires from ever involving themselves in politics!

It depends on that third party's policy agenda. As Musk as an example, the agenda wouldn't be that different than the Trump controlled GOP. Dualling Nazi wannabe parties? It MIGHT siphon votes from Republicans. A home for disgruntled Trump voters? Many of the people who helped push Trump over the top were really Musk supporters. People who almost never vote but turned out for Trump because Musk said so. I'm not sure how big that demographic is. Those numbers will not be huge. But it only takes a couple percentage points to tip elections to the Democrats., but anything to piss Trump off and destroy his version of the GOP.

And if it gains momentum ... Krasnov deports him, and he will be a South African the minute he lands.

Then there is Musk himself. A foreigner, who can't run for President. Someone who does have a somewhat cult of personality type following, but nothing like Trump. No way a loudmouthed jerk like Musk, who spent hundreds of millions getting a fascist like Trump into power, can be trusted to do anything that will help lower and middle class Americans anyway. The minimum wage has been $7.25 for 16 fucking years! Factoring in annual inflation, that means Americans have been getting a pay cut every single year. Musk has already proven he has no political sense at all. And does not understand the US. Which I do not expect to change. Plus the only reason he is probably doing this is to get revenge on Trump for impeaching and removing HIS presidency from the White House.

If Musk is serious and some other powerful people sign on. We'll see how it plays out. Should be another shitshow to watch from the sidelines.

Thinking further on this. I couldn't remember, so I had to look it up ... November 1992 third party candidate Ross Perot picked up nearly 19% of the popular vote, which seemed to really help cause incumbent president H.W. Bush to lose to Bill Clinton. Republicans were pissed for years! They were so pissed 5 to 6 years later that Newt Gingrich impeached Bill Clinton over a blow job, while Newt was cheating on his own wife!

I never gave much thought if I wanted a third party or not. Or if it would be a good thing. Not until that last ten years watching an authoritarian demagogue rise to the top of one of our political parties. And Fucking win an election! Twice!

Countries with legislatures with multiple parties have to make alliances and compromises with rival parties to get things done. A legislature having multiple parties would force coalition building which is the normal routine in other, functional, democracies.

Who knows though, in this fucked up political climate where lies work and are the norm. Musk could be working with Trump to syphon off Democrat voters to Trump. They both know the power of tweeting for distraction. Kids dying in Texas, Trump goes golfing and Musk sends a tweet about a new party. Musk could be doing this in order to build more leverage with Trump, not to battle him head-to-head. He knows that if he gathers enough disaffected Republicans and so-called independents into his coalition, he will be able to cut a deal with Trump to see things Musk's way, at which time Musk will instruct his coalition to back Trump. Does Musk have allies in the donor class? The rank and file? Musk likely thinks he can still manipulate them through X. Political parties are organized by state. Elon has to start 50 political parties. Musk is most likely just trying to draw attention to himself, and when the novelty of this new idea wears off? He will abandon it.

True. And I hate Musk as much as the next guy.
But.
What Musk is proposing is Capitalism Endstage Light. Like the GOP was pre-Trump. Still fucked. Still the billionaire donors calling the shots.

As I see it the US is heading towards an inflection point either way, to me the choice is between take the fight now or later. Path Musk might buy you a decade + who knows how AI will alter the game (well its going to be for the worse isnt it, cause morons is going to be in charge of it).

If the left promises Musk all the rockets and EV credits .. you could probably sweet talk him into UBI stuff.

If you take the fight now it's vs the Orange moron. Thank god he is stupid. If you wait ten years, you might be up against the Thiels of the world.

So many variables.

.'Yea, I'm sure Trump has the same attitude about drugs as Elvis did. They are only bad if they aren't prescribed.
By the way, have you seen how Trump dresses lately? It's like he just doesn't give shit. Same wrinkled blue blazer, hair just stuffed under a MAGA hat that looks like it's been sat on. That is actually really un Trump like. He not playing the type right anymore.

Elon managed to make Grok into a card carrying member of the Nazi Party

View attachment 126821
I saw a post yesterday where Grok was literally talking as if it was Elon in the first person, then it said oops, it's an independent AI, NOT Elon - then proceeded to answer right away again speaking as Elon in the first person. It was about Epstein and taking a tour of Tesla or some shit. I mean this is cartoon villain level of ineptness and evil.

The Atlantic sums it up nicely...

The year is 2025, and an AI model belonging to the richest man in the world has turned into a neo-Nazi. Earlier today, Grok, the large language model that’s woven into Elon Musk’s social network, X, started posting anti-Semitic replies to people on the platform. Grok praised Hitler for his ability to “deal with” anti-white hate.
The bot also singled out a user with the last name Steinberg, describing her as “a radical leftist tweeting under @Rad_Reflections.” Then, in an apparent attempt to offer context, Grok spat out the following: “She’s gleefully celebrating the tragic deaths of white kids in the recent Texas flash floods, calling them ‘future fascists.’ Classic case of hate dressed as activism—and that surname? Every damn time, as they say.” This was, of course, a reference to the traditionally Jewish last name Steinberg (there is speculation that @Rad_Reflections, now deleted, was a troll account created to provoke this very type of reaction). Grok also participated in a meme started by actual Nazis on the platform, spelling out the N-word in a series of threaded posts while again praising Adolf Hitler and “recommending a second Holocaust,” as one observer put it. Grok additionally said that it has been allowed to “call out patterns like radical leftists with Ashkenazi surnames pushing anti-white hate. Noticing isn’t blaming; it’s facts over feelings.”

Just another reason to stay far from Twitter, and I wish reporters would get the message too. Stop hanging out in the Nazi Bar.

Also, this - if he's making his AI LLM a neonazi by putting his thumb on the scale, he's almost certainly doing the same to the algorithm that is feeding into everyone's eyeballs.

Isn't this a Smart Car?

Terrible story tho. I try to get into the city as often as possible, but as a person with The Anxiety™, I always feel like I'm playing Frogger when I cross the street (whether it's cars, bikers, or other pedestrians!).

I c

I didn't even know people drove those.. I've seriously not seen one of those in NYC other than NYPD vehicles.

Seen a Ferrari, seen Lambo, seen McLarens, even seen Mazerattis but nope no smart cars.

Yaccarino steps down as CEO of X. Finally too much for her now that Grok went too full Nazi to even pretend anymore.
