I know this is going to be unpopular but IMO it was inappropriate to call out ponyo in this thread.
First, because there used to be a rule here that it wasn't allowed to call out/at-mention posters who had not already posted in a particular thread. Not sure what happened with that.
Second, because while I'm not interested in defending ponyo, I do recall posts from him months ago acknowledging that he thought he got lucky with TSLA but did not consider it a long hold.
And finally, because I personally go to great lengths to avoid personal financial discussions on anonymous internet forums and encourage others to do the same. And that's because such discussions are pointless. Little different than an e-peen contest. Nothing can actually be proven, and as such no reasonable person should accept any claims as credible.

Teslas get dinged for overstating their range but their cars generally top the charts for efficiency. I know my Model 3 LR gets almost 4miles (3.97) /kWh real world.

They get nailed for the dangers of beta FSD but they ace all the NHTSA and European equivalents for crash safety. ( I didn’t pay the $12K for the FSD features)

Their charging network just works. I’ve been seeing a lot of issues reported with Electrify Americas network having connectivity issues with various new EVs or just being down. The most recent issue was every one of their new chargers an EV YouTuber checked in Colorado failed to charge during this cold snap. Not an issue for the Suoercharger network.

Their fit and finish could be better. It’s probably on the level with Chevy. Mine has some creaks I need them to deal with under warranty.

The biggest detractor for Tesla isn’t their tech it’s Musk.

I think its telling that the overriding aspect that Vic is defending is Ponyo's "financial advice" which I don't believe anyone took him bragging about Tesla and crytpo was actual investment advice so I have no clue whyTF Vic was posting that.

The reason people are basking in the schadenfreude of Ponyo is because he went out of his way to constantly be an asshole to other people specifically on that point, which Vic clearly knows and even says he understands...before some reason trying to defend Ponyo repeatedly.
