Posters aren't on it for just being the 'wrong' political team (a good many right-wing posters are not on my list), it's more that some posters seem just seem to say the same things over-and-over-again to the point where my eyes glaze over at their posts...or that they are excessively bombastic and aggressive over every issue, big or small, in a way that's kind of exhausting, even if I sometimes agree with them.

It's not Right Wing. It's RWNJs that are on my list. If someone is an actual conservative (believes in small government, lower taxes, going to church on Sunday etc), I'm not going to block them.

If they repeatedly spout conspiracy theory nonsense, they are on ignore(they could be left or right). If they keep arguing blatantly incorrect positions with respect to facts, after being corrected more than once, they are on ignore (they could be left or right). But it seems those on the right are more susceptible to conspiracy theories, but there are anti-vaxxers on the left too.

It's Okay to eat, sleep, shit and piss on the sidewalk in San Francisco, but you can't sleep in a bedroom in a business?

That is crazy.

It's only insane because you're lying about it being okay to eat, sleep, shit and piss on the sidewalk in San Francisco. Those things are not "okay" in SF. They just occur because it is impractical (if not impossible) to prevent every instance.
But it is fun that you decided to attack the homeless in defense of a dick boss who won't let his employees have a home life.

I have never used the ignore button on anyone, but do ignore certain posters 99% of the time and its actually more people on the left than on the alt right… Its like with the right I know what to expect while my fellow leftists have the capacity to disappoint me.
I view it like this, you can build an adder out of like 20 transistors to inform you that 1 plus 1 equals 2 every time to the tune on very few joules in cost BUT you’re gonna need a full fledged trained neural network to tell you of the odd case when one plus one does NOT equal two. And it happens. Also the second we begin assigning other human beings to lists… it just seems there is a precedent.

So I read the thread. He’s got some good points about quality of living inside the cab of the semi that they probably should have taken into account.

That being said a quarter of his complaints are about the sloped windows being worse than vertical windows. Poor aerodynamics are basically the number one killer of EV range so I don’t see that changing.

Finally on the 4 years late thing. Musk always overpromised Tesla schedules. That doesn’t take away from the engineering here. The fact they got it to go 500+ miles on sub 1000kwh is quite frankly amazing.

Wasn't intending to say any more about this because it's off-topic, but as you mention it...

It's a pretty impulsive random thing for me, putting posters on ignore. It's not really about politics. (Plus, I don't believe there are just two "sides", there's probably not a single poster I agree with on every topic.) That list grows for a bit then I purge it again.

I had one poster on ignore simply because his posts were always so badly formatted that they gave me a headache to look at, for example, nothing to do with the content.

(Also, I am not sure what RWNJ actually stands for - right winger from New Jersey?)

Yeah, I thought that thread about the truck made some _very_ solid points. As a cyclist the issue of how the design of trucks affects their safety in use (e.g. visibility in various directions from the cab) is something that comes up regularly. It doesn't sound as if Elon's cab was designed with that kind of issue in mind. Seems as if it's a cab designed by computer tech types. It's bad enough when they are designed by automotive engineers who don't think sufficiently about the safety of those outside the vehicle. This seems even worse.

And if the truck can only achieve decent range by having sloped windows, that's simply a problem with the whole concept of an EV truck.

I am going to assume its FSD prepped, so in terms of the security aspect of sloped windows it's gonna have cameras everywhere and if in fact not self driving then warning systems tied to the cams + an actual feed for the driver to inspect.
This is shit we can 101 deduct pretty accurately right?

The point is to hassle Musk for his politics. No one at city hall gives a rats ass about the people involved.

Putting bedrooms in commercially zoned area is illegal basically everywhere in the United States.

No, the point is that people want to have a life outside of working for a billionaire who overpaid for a company and expects his employees to make it work after getting rid of most of the people who built and maintained the company. I'm sure that you often hear people say "Well honey, I'm off to work, don't know when I'll be back and gosh I am glad I get to clean the communal bathroom after my 16 hour shift making sure some horrible people get to say shitty things about others. The kids will have to make do without a parent because Elon doesn't give a shit about that and after all, he turned out just great being raised by nannies at his apartheid emerald mine."
I have worked long days (15 hours or more on rare occasions) because if I don't work, no one works. Working those hours so dipshits can be terrible to other people just doesn't have the allure of say clearing a mountain pass so a bunch of workers stuck in a remote camp can get some food, fuel and time with their families.
And as a final note, Musk bought twitter to hassle humanity with his political views and to buy some horrible friends, and is not above abusing the laws of various locales to enable that.

Good to see that the "Twitter files" fiasco is essentially the big tech version of Geraldo Rivera's Capone's Vault but with QAnon dummies mixed in for added humor.

As far as I can tell the scandal is Twitter acted in accordance with its publicly available terms of service.

If anything it is serving to demolish what’s left of Taibbi and Weiss’s reputations as they are doing PR for a billionaire who can’t handle being made fun of.

You must not watch Faux News, it’s a bigly deal over there.

No, I don't watch Fox News. Because I don't have brain worms.

But it doesn't surprise me that they'd be shocked to find out how large companies work internally in terms of enforcing a publicly available TOS.

Almost. It actually shows that RWNJs were given an excruciating amount of leniency and special treatment in terms of TOS enforcement. Far more than you or I would get. If anything, it's a giant self own, but they're too stupid to know it.

It seems like Musk is flailing and desperately trying to change the subject from everyone laughing at his choice to basically do the dumbest takeover in history.

They should make a limited production of tesla shorts and sell em online… Actually if I was Bezos that’s exactly what I’d do… maybe obfuscate it was me behind it, but I’d definitely try and fuel Elmos ego…
You forgot. And add his own public comments about it, knowing the SEC won't say a thing.

If working conditions aren't in line with California law, the employees have recourse. Everything else is just noise. Those people aren't slaves, they can quit anytime they want.

The reason's for Musk buying twitter and what he does with it are all Musk's business. Everyone spent years telling those on the right to get their own twitter, they did. Same applies now, don't like it, go build your own.

Exactly. Twitter can moderate however it wants because it’s a private company.

That being said it has been absolutely hilarious to watch Musk light his fortune on fire purely because he was too stupid not to sign a contract obligating him to buy Twitter with no due diligence, then after spending months desperately trying to escape the deal realizing he was screwed.

He’s made Twitter worse because he didn’t understand what he was buying but hey, at least the dumpster fire is entertaining for now. The world never wanted a right wing Twitter and he’s slowly realizing this.

I think the world would be a better place without any social media. The shit is a cancer that eats away at society.
