Which is just dumb. Some of the "freedom convoy" people here in Canada (like you I guess) believe the Canadian gov't is some totalitarian regime oppressing people just cause they wanted you to wear masks and get vaccinated.

You guys have not truly experienced oppression until you live in a place like China or Russia or any other number of dictatorial regimes. Heck I originally moved to Canada because there was a civil war going on in my country with curfews, military patrols on the streets (where I've been stopped and questioned while just walking since I was a young male of a certain look), etc.

THAT is oppressive (and not even that bad compared to other places). Canada by comparison is a bastion of freedom.
I wish you lot would think outside of yourselves for once and realize that there is a lot worse going on around the world. Stop being snowflakes and realize we have it pretty good in Canada/North America.

I do agree that's extreme but I see where they are coming from, it's not about what Hitler did, but how he got to the point of doing that and got the people's support.

Look at what's going on in China. THAT is the kind of stuff we don't want to happen here. This is why protests are important and that governments need to be kept in check. They are suppose to be public servants not dictators and sometimes they need to be reminded this. Trudeau is a hypocrite for saying he supports China protests while he called the Canada one nazis and other names.

There are lot of people from China who are in Canada and do not like what they see, because they've experienced it at home. If you pay attention there is lot of stuff not on the news that's going on, such as bills to suppress free speech. Bill C-11 for example. The government will have authority over any content that you publish online. That's stepping into very dangerous territory.

Good thing Justin Trudeau's name is not in the Liberal Party Charter and Liberal Party is not defined as the only party allowed to rule in Canadian Constitution.

Have you actually met anyone from PRC?

CRTC needs an overhaul. Too heavily tilted towards big three.

I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be if nobody protests these things or supports those who protest. Governments are constantly chipping away at rights, freedoms, liberties etc. They do it slow enough so it's like boiling a frog. The sheep don't see it and just run with it. Some people even think freedom is "dumb" and make fun of those who want more freedom. It's pretty sad really.

No. Nobody has said freedom is dumb. You just made that up. Please show us where all these people are criticizing actual freedom.

Please tell us in a list form the top 10 freedoms you have lost in the last 5 years compared to what you can do today.

Also how do you feel about Kanye suspension on a super duper free speech platform? Is Elon now anti-freedom? Please give us your thoughts

You don't get it. For all their cries and protests of freedom and liberty, right-wingers are currently the driving force of tyranny in this world. And the reason why is because the only freedom right-wingers love is their own. So it's easy for govts and the elites in power to convince them into taking away other people's freedoms by telling them that those other people's freedoms are threat to their freedoms.
Just look at twitter, where they're banning leftist speech to protect free speech.
Or look at you, arrogantly convinced that other people are "sheep" who don't want freedom, just because their exercise of freedom might conflict with your own.

There is nothing special in loving your own freedom. Everyone loves their own freedom. Especially tyrants. To actually love freedom, one needs to love everyone's freedoms.
Something that right-wingers fail at spectacularly.

Part 2 of the "Twitter Files" drop tomorrow followed by a Q&A session.

I think Elon is trying to commit suicide by pissing politicians, the government and former executives off.

Ironically, the emails expose nothing we didn't already know and Twitter didn't already disclose.

1. They debated if it violated their hacked materials ban. And decided it did. The chain of custody and questionable sources made it impossible to determine.

2. There is no evidence of outside government or political influence.

But hey. Those buttery males, amirite?

Twitter, like Fox News should be shut down. Probably the effort is to antagonize one party so publicly that saving the country from a national security threat looks to others only like revenge suppression which they will robotically resist.

The Tory Party has been doing that for a long time. Recently they have been putting more-and-more restrictions on the right to protest (as well as introducing methods to suppress voting - unlike in the US their 'voter ID' policies were just passed with barely any opposition or attention).

It's what the right always do when they are in power - because they are all about fighting the class war. Liberals tend to face both ways - they make lots of noise about civil liberties, but in practice end up always finding reasons to go along with the Right.

funny or sad, elmo atleast drove lots of clicks to twitter

The fact that Musk Puppet doesn't disclose the fact that the entire list of remove requests from the Biden campaign team (he wasn't even president yet) were non-consensual dick pics that violated even Musk's own Twitter TOS is all the evidence you need to prove Musk is attempting a buttery males scandal.

I've known a handful of PRC citizens (as co-workers, mostly) and I found it surprising how varied their attitudes/opinions were.

I would suspect it's those considered politically reliable who are permitted to travel/work/study abroad, but those I've had conversations with spanned a range of views I found surprising. Went from very conservative nationalism (weirdly hard-to-distinguish from Trumpery and complete with anti-black racism and admiration for the US right) to still-believing leftist Maoism (bemoaned the fact they met more communists here than they did back home), and others in-between.

I'm probably very naive about it all, as I'm only talking a handful of people, but they were much less uniform in their views than I would have expected.
