Pretty much what I was going to say. Moving from the US to Canada won’t work, moving to Mexico may work but then you are in Mexico.
In either case you end up sort of far away from friends & family not quite the same for a person moving from France to Germany.
Also wealthy people want to live in NYC or Miami or Hollywood. You just won’t find those places outside of the US unless we count France or Italy then you are back to the big taxes. Maybe Singapore or Taiwan but you plan on moving to a Communist Country as a wealthy person? Sounds sort of risky to me.
Smart move Warren has regarding renouncing your Citizenship. Per our current Congress foreigners have minimal constitutional protections.

Just a small btw, neither Singapore or Taiwan are communist in any way, shape or form.

1. Move US based assets to Switzerland.
2. Renounce US citizenship and file for Swiss citizenship
3. ???
4. Profit

Google it. Thousands have already done it.

Thousands?

I found just over 500 (and the largest single group is Russian) between 2008 and 2017 and that was after the Swiss changed the law to make it somewhat easier.

What health care choice do you believe that a single payer system will take away from you?

Ive previously commented on my view of healthcare, and this isnt thread to discuss it. Maybe start a new thread I might comment. Probably not though, as I know you dont give a rats ass what I think. As to my comment, look at what I was commenting on. Lets not dig a rabbit hole and change the topic, hmm?

Only for some people. As a SS recipient & Kaiser member I'll pay $54/mo. Some of my friends with different plans pay nothing & actually receive some other considerations as well.

You didnt see my edit even though I quoted it? How about reading my comment in its entirety instead of cherry picking it to prove Im somehow wrong.

You made a fucking comment about how it's going to take your "choice" away from you but refuse to address that comment it when questioned? ROFL

It's a simple question and I asked it because I found it a curious comment. No need for you to be shirty about it bunky.

The beauty of privatized healthcare is choices. Deductables, coverage, networks, etc.Every policy is different, even policies from the same provider. With single payer, those choices would be taken away, Thats one example.

And yes Im aware that Medicare offer a couple of different part B plans, but its only a couple. And before you say how do I know, my question is how do you know? I base my opinion on the previously rolled ACA. Obama promised "If you’re one of over 40 million Americans who don’t have health insurance –- including hundreds of thousands of folks right here in Maryland –- starting on Tuesday, five days from now, you’ll finally have the same chance to buy quality, affordable health care as everybody else....So you enter in some basic information about yourself, what level of coverage you’re looking for. After that, you’ll be presented with a list of quality, affordable plans that are available in your area. It will say clearly what each plan covers, what each plan costs."

The reality today? 40% of counties neitionwide only have one or no plans available. Thus, no choice

"In states where the federal government helps run these marketplaces, the average American will have more than 50 different plans to choose from, with different levels of coverage. And because insurance companies are competing against one another for your business, a lot of Americans will pay significantly less for their insurance than they do now."

Not may, but WILL. Yeah. OK. Bottom line, the exchanges failed to deliver what they promised. I dont believe anything the government promises on Medicare for all. Foll me once, you know the rest.

Yeah no, this is something we are inherently wired to do whether you realize it or not.

Like I said, everyone has their competition. Some are video game competitions, some are Facebook/Instagram like counts on their posts, and some do it by counting their wealth, and some do it by counting their yearly income.

So you don't think you can do anything to overcome how you're wired, eh?

Please elaborate further.

Oh, please. Employers, not employees, determine which plans their employees have. Sometimes that's only one plan. Sometimes people get to choose between two or more plans, more being quite unusual.

When you look a little deeper than GOP propaganda what you find is that one provider is better than none and the only reason some counties have none is because the GOP won't pay for the stop loss provisions necessary for insurers to participate in tricky to insure low population counties.

And sometimes it amounts to hoarding as a detriment to others.

As much as I dont disagree with you, it doesnt make my point invalid.

Heres an example: if youre gay, youre gay. No ifs ands or buts.
And do all gay people follow that with behavior? Because I believe behavior is the key element here.

Though I don't think billionaires are "wired" in any special way, so this whole analogy is a mess.

I live in a country with single payer. I have no deductibles. I have no issues with coverage. I can see any doctor that's willing to see me as a patient so I don't care about health care networks. Don't need to worry about differences in policy as, if I'm sick, I see a doctor or doctors, I get treated and, hopefully, cured. So, I'm still not seeing what choice that you're losing.

What you're describing above is all about private insurance and it all sounds like a royal pain in the ass.

Personal anecdote: a few years ago I was diagnosed with a stage 4 throat cancer. I received top notch, timely treatment and it cost me about $500 or $600 in total for out of pocket expenses. What choice am I missing out on?

addendum: without my extended coverage that I get through my job and which covers extra things like dental and drugs my cost might have been a bit more more but there is a system in place that ensures that lower income patients are covered for issues like medication so, maybe not.

The beauty of privatized health care is choice? As in you get to choose what options will screw you over the least? Lol! That's quite the sales pitch. You know what sounds like a better option? Not having to be screwed at all in the first place. Being able to pick the doctor I want and not what my insurance company wants is pretty nice bonus as well. Not having to pay a high deductible before I can use care when I need it is pretty nice as well.

Then again, a low deductible and minimum coverage does sound sweet as does a high deductible and a choice of "in network" doctors. /eye roll

This is a good point in favor of increasing taxes on the extremely wealthy. People like to claim that these people will just work less if we increase taxes on them, but this isn't the case. For the high income earners, work is their competition. This is one part of the research done by this years nobel laureate in economics. One thing she looked at was professional athletes with and without salary caps, and found it made no difference because their ultimate driver was the competition.

Completely concur. If you fall into the doughnut hole, because you are just rolling in money, ha, ha, you get more taken out.

Lol not quite. They compete by bank account size, not by tax return size. That is where they compete for lowest amount silly 😉
