Eliptical is done for ... wife wants a treadmill

You can find deals on commercial treadmills that often have service contracts still attached.

Keep in mind if you aren't on a ground level floor, these can be very heavy compared to home models.

She could also just use the treadmill for walking if running is too stressful. If someone is clocking in 1+ hours a day of TV time, do that walking on a treadmill instead of just sitting on the couch and it will make a difference over time.

Talked to my wife last night. She said she wants to use the treadmill for walking (briskly).

I showed her the trainer that you attach to a mountain bike and she doesn't like it.

So, I really have no idea what she wants. For fast walking, I might as well get her a cheap POS treadmill.

And for some reasons she won't join a 24 hour fitness place over winter break (she's a teacher) to see what kind of equipment she likes.

on the bright side, you would have a slimmer and a more beautiful wife than before 😉

And for those same reasons, you shouldn't buy her a damn thing. If she isn't willing to put in a tiny amount of effort into finding out what she actually wants, she doesn't deserve a thing.

She probably doesn't even have to join a club. Hell, just have her pay a drop-in rate and spend a couple of days in a gym deciding if she really wants a treadmill.

This discussion has gotten pretty ridiculous. Like seeking advice on what car to buy someone who doesn't know if they want to get a driver's license.

Ours is not to reason why. Ours is jump until she says, "That high."

For your wife? Yes. For a man? Certainly not. >_>

I want a damn miata! bad...

100% serious. But don't have any more garage space.

OP, just buy her the closest treadmill available for free on craigs... one that is listed, "it's yours if you get here before the trash man"

Someone near me is selling a life fitness 9500 deluxe which goes for over $2200 (new). In excellent condition, move it out for $500. Wish I had the room for another one.

Could you even fit in a Miata? I could only imagine the sight would be similar to those bears riding tiny motorcycles in the circus.

Dave,

In the winter layer. Unless you are talking 0 degrees and 20 MPH winds.

Tomorrow we are going to Dicks just for her to look and maybe buy. I atleast want her to decide on what she wants.

I have no problem with the cold. It's the snow and ice I don't like running on. One too many wipeouts got me scared to run on icy roads. And last year that stuff was around for months straight. Add to that the fact that there is no daylight in the winter for runs during the week + crappy drivers.
