Who cares on this though. Ubisoft will still be developing the games like splinter cell etc. EA will just slap its name on it like they did with burnout 3. This isnt as bad as buying exclusive rights to NFL GAMES

I'm still fuming at EA for that piece of trash they released on the PC called NHL 2005. What an unfinished pile of dung.

They only hold 20% equity. I don't think this automatically entails that the EA brand will be stamped on all Ubi products from here on out. However, there has to be a long-term plan with aquiring the 20%. What do they have planned?
Electronic Arts said earlier on Monday it was buying about 19.9 percent of the French video game maker, fuelling speculation it might bid for the whole company

EA grinds babies up to make their games :/
My bf works for them ... and crunch time for Golden Eye2, was 16+ hour work days, 7 days a week x_x people were eating, breating, sleeping EA. (And some slept @ EA!) During GE2, the only time I was able to see him, was to drive over an hour to see him at his office for about a few minutes and then leave :/

I read this this morning. EA is a monster. It seems that Ubi's execs do not really like the deal either but they have little power.
EA will be bigger than MS pretty soon for as much software as they put out. The deal with Dice didn't work out but EA is giving them another chance. No one says no to EA.

Not to support EA's employee treatment practices at all, but why don't developers such as your bf look elsewhere.
