People are going to read way too much into this. These are local politics with local issues at hand, not national ones. The election to watch is the 2010 congressional and senatorial races.
And people are going to try to dismiss this... but it's not meaningless in a national politics sort of way. It's not all about BHO for sure but it is a sign there may be some buyer's remorse and opposition to the way BHO and his D leaders have "led" so far.
No, not really. National issues are a whole different beast than local issues. The 2010 elections are a much better litmus test for Republicans than these local elections.

Post your election results here.
Looks like Republicans took all 3 races in VA.
Not that surprising, I don't know many people who had anything good to say about Corzine.

the writing was kinda on the wall this morning.
I live in the republican section of NJ. when I voted this morning, the place was relatively crowded.
according to my friends who live up north, voting places there were practically empty.
White House: Obama 'not watching returns'...
If I were him I would be calling the Congressional Country Club to see if they could squeeze in a tee time for early tomorrow morning so he doesn't have to "watch the returns" then either.
"Hold the calls, Michelle! I'm off to the links!"
He can hear the results with those big ol Dumbo ears.
Barry is doing his part of stimulating the economy, he isn't just playing golf.
True enough, 2010 is the better litmus test. But the dems would be crazy not to see the writing on the wall. BHO carried New Jersey by 16 and Virginia by 10 points (or thereabout). At the very least they should be prepared that BHO's coat tails aren't going to carry all the moderate dems that stole red state house seats in 2010.
