I'm thinking the Reps are going to do pretty well this time around. We'll see.

it'll be interesting to see the NJ results... Corzine outspent Christie 2:1 and ran an insanely negative campaign, but the polls seemed relatively crowded this morning for an off-year election and I live in the republican section of Jersey.

People are going to read way too much into this. These are local politics with local issues at hand, not national ones. The election to watch is the 2010 congressional and senatorial races.

And people are going to try to dismiss this... but it's not meaningless in a national politics sort of way. It's not all about BHO for sure but it is a sign there may be some buyer's remorse and opposition to the way BHO and his D leaders have "led" so far.

Well for the first time in my life, I voted republican for a national seat. I have voted republican in local elections before though. But I decided Corzine just didn't deserve another chance. I believe that as voters we have start holding our politicians accountable, sooner. Regardless of party. So I voted for Christie. But he better lose damn weight :)

Looks like a Conservative/Republican evening.

I am enjoying a good three fingers of 18 Year Old Elijah Craig Single Barrel Kentucky Bourbon.

Neat.

Just because.

No, not really. National issues are a whole different beast than local issues. The 2010 elections are a much better litmus test for Republicans than these local elections.

9:40 -- Setting the scene at Corzine HQ: music turned off and NJN coverage being piped in. Much of the crowd is taking advantage of the cash bar and soggy water dogs outside the ballroom.

True enough, 2010 is the better litmus test. But the dems would be crazy not to see the writing on the wall. BHO carried New Jersey by 16 and Virginia by 10 points (or thereabout). At the very least they should be prepared that BHO's coat tails aren't going to carry all the moderate dems that stole red state house seats in 2010.

All Democrats holding office in Red States are now officially hyperventilating. Big government Republicans are busy writing speeches attesting to be conservatives. More at 11:00.

Christie Wins New Jersey Governor's Race, Associated Press Projects

If Barry wasn't so busy fighting the war... against Fox, Rush, economy and jobs she could have helped the dimocratic party.

War, what is it good for?

Post your election results here.

Looks like Republicans took all 3 races in VA.

I heard on the radio this evening that this has only happened once before VA. Hearsay, but I assume such an easily verified stat would have been checked.

White House: Obama 'not watching returns'...

If I were him I would be calling the Congressional Country Club to see if they could squeeze in a tee time for early tomorrow morning so he doesn't have to "watch the returns" then either.

"Hold the calls, Michelle! I'm off to the links!"

Not that surprising, I don't know many people who had anything good to say about Corzine.

the writing was kinda on the wall this morning.

I live in the republican section of NJ. when I voted this morning, the place was relatively crowded.

according to my friends who live up north, voting places there were practically empty.

you are so deluded... all politics is local... the same people dumping the dems here for not coming through with the handouts will do the same in the national elections... it's all "what r u doing for me???'...

MSNBC achieves a state of denial, ignores the election results coming in, and instead launches into an attack against (Moderate Independent) Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut. Who is not running for anything.

Now they are attacking Glen Beck. Who is also not running for anything.

We are waiting for the expected attack on Bill O'Reilly. Who is also not running for anything.

Olbermann is wildly lashing out at everyone Republican but fails to mention election results even one time in the last 20 minutes.

He can hear the results with those big ol Dumbo ears.

Barry is doing his part of stimulating the economy, he isn't just playing golf.

Let me set the record straight about NJ. If anyone thinks for one second this has anything to do with Obama you are completely clueless. My household voted Christie because Corzine was just terrible. Nothing to do with Obama, healthcare, big spending, or etc. Corzine was just not very good. There has been many polls that have shown that here in NJ we didn't like either one, but Christie was just disliked less. If Christie does no better, then guess what's going to happen next election, he'll go the way of Corzine. We are just tired of being screwed by our State Government. When Obama runs in 2012, he'll carry Jersey just as big. I don't know about VA, but here in Jersey, this had nothing to do with Obama.
