I'm prepared for a huge disappointment now, which means I probably won't be that disappointed when it arruves.

At this point I'm not expecting much more than a slightly prettier, $60 Morrowind expansion. If the AI isn't what it's cracked up to be, you're looking at just that.

A completely new morrowwind even with the old engine would still kick the crap out of any RPG out there. Can't wait to close my WoW account :D

Yeah, I really don't give a rats ass about the graphics in the end. I want interactivity and AI that acts in realistic ways. Still, its starting to sound more and more like this thing is going to run like crap on my PC. :(

Now we'll just have to see how big of a lie the recommended specs on this particular title. :p

Holy crap. My system doesn't meet the recommended requirements. I have a P4 2.8 with a Radeon X800XL. It's good thing I'm building a new system. :)

That was considered a pretty darn good system back in '02 when Morrowind came out. I essentially had the same thing (ti4200 and XP1700+), and specifically remember that indoors had very good framerates, but outdoors, in many places in towns, it would creep down to averaging in the 20s. Which, in a game like this, doesn't bother me at all. I'll be happy-- scratch that... ecstatic-- if I get mid-20s in Oblivion with all the eye candy turned on.

i feel soooo lame. I was sitting in a boring lecture today, and i started thinking about morrowwind. Shows apparently how much im waiting for this new game to come out. Im no so happy tho, i have a 3000+ 64 and 6600GT, so i prob won't have textures or the resolution very high playing the new oblivion

Oblivion Developers saying no difference between 360 and PC graphically
CVG: Will there be different features or limitations in the Xbox 360 version?

Carter: We are working to make the two versions as close to identical as possible. The Xbox 360 version should be visually identical to a PC running with all the visual options turned to maximum. PC users will have more options to turn down certain visuals to better accommodate older hardware setups. The only thing the Xbox 360 version will lack is the Elder Scrolls Construction Set for modding. It simply isn't possible to offer on a console.
