hahaha...empty a clip into a spider eh? i hope that gets rid of it.

what's the big deal about spiders. they're not out to hurt you. they either:

a) don't give a sh*t about you
b) are scared shitless of you

Where does that irrational fear of spiders come from anyway? Fear for predators I can understand (wolf/bear/shark), snakes and killer jellyfish ok, even rats as they can carry pretty nasty diseases. But spiders won't bite humans normally, and clean up all kinds of nasty insects. They are a lot less annoying than the critters they prey on, I'd rather have a spider in the garden than having a fly which just sat on some cowsh!t fly in and sit on my food. Not that I am not affected by the irrational fear, but I'm wondering why that evolved in the first place.

I dont know which kind of spiders I hate most - the glistening wet kind or the hairy big ones. :disgust:

I hate spiders! My summer job is landscaping and yesterday I saw a Brown Recluse in a plant that we mesured and 3 and 1/2"! Yuck

I was told that Brown Recluses don't get very big. Are you sure that is what it was?

I'm not afraid of spiders if they're not in my bed, of course :D. I second that you let it live. It's not a praying mantis, after all :Q.

The bodies themselves are 1/4" -> 1/2", maybe he measured the legs too? If you want to see a big spider come see some of our North Carolina Wolf Spiders. Yes they're so big we have our own species. :p The ones I usually see here at work are over 8" leg to leg.

I think I shall share with you my near-death (not really) experience with a blackwidow. It was a duel to the death, and one of us wasn't going to make it out alive. It was about 6:00 pm and I was going to my front door to pick up a package. Out of the corner of my eye i spot the darned black beast. Frozen in fear, i quickly grabbed the package and tried to make a run for it. But this little bastard smelled fear, and decided to swoop down on me.

It looked as if it was flying in midair, spinning it's web while moving gracefully. It skillfully landed on my shoulder, and I knew i was in for it. I turned, and tried to swat off my shoulder. However, it moved and kept running down my back, probably planning on where to attack me. At this point, I was so shaken in fear that i did not move. The spider slowly started to crawl up my back towards my neck area. I was absolutely scared sh*tless.

The spider was not crawling on my neck and i dared not move for fear of being bitten. At this point I was completely frozen and just praying that it would leave me. Then, out of nowhere, i felt something powerful knock me on the neck and i rocked forward. I thought that I was bitten and was starting to panic. I turned around, and saw that it was my little brother holding a broom. He managed to swat the black widow off of my neck and he stepped on it and killed that bastard instantly.

Down here in my basement I tiny spiders of all assortment and I always kill them. First off they scare me, I dont know why but they do and I dont feel like having 100 of them running around. I dont know what I would do if those big sob's were around here.
