Your friend is an idiot. :(

Seriously, she thought she was going to be regional VP in 2 years? Just like the other 30 people at the recruitment meeting she went to I'm sure.

I lost a wife.

Ouch....

I don't see how people can be so blind for so long, even after 4 years....

It was a double whammy for me, first she got involved with this small church (cult) then they (the church collectively, with the minister's blessing as they would all be joining under him) got involved with ACN. Funny thing is my ex and I went to an ACN meeting a couple of years prior to her getting "saved" and we left as soon as we realized what it was all about, a typical MLM scheme.

When she told me about getting involved with ACN through her church I protested, but she said it was only a 99 dollar investment. I reluctantly agreed to her making the 99 dollar investment figuring hey, is 99 dollars wasn't worth the argument.

2 weeks later 500 is missing from the account, when confronted she told me she used it to join ACN. I blew my stack.... We fought for what seemed like hours. The next day she asked for a divorce. I wholeheartedly agreed. We had other problems (most stemming from our religious differences), but the ACN thing was the straw that broke the camel's back.

BTW, she didn't make a dime. It cost her money to switch her utilities back as a matter of fact...

Sadly though, I've had friends burned by these things. Even worse, one of my friends is in it now, knowing well what happened to the others. One guy's money and Hummer had more worth than the no's of this closest friends.

I have to admit, I have trouble feeling sorry for people who bring these things on themselves, though.

They just remind me of drug addicts or obsessive gamblers.

Maybe for someone who you hardly know, but when they've been a close friend for 12 years...

A recruiter from Primerica called me once for a Financial Analyst position. I thought: great an interview call from citigroup. I went to the recruiter and she made me attend a seminar.

I was pissed as the position had nothing to do with financial analysis, but she apologized and said that the seminar didn't explain anything about the position and scheduled another interview in which she would tell me about it.

Being the ass I am, I scheduled another time slot. I drove 25 miles to the office again and she beat about the bush regarding the position. Also, she asked for ~$200 for licencing fee. I asked about the licences and she wasn't able to explain about them. I said I will call her in a few days. I never returned her calls.

Citigroup FTL!!

Would "owner" be the plural for a group of people that have been "owned"?

I worked for Primerica several years ago for 5 years and made great money. I still have my insurance and investments with them. Im not sure why you guys think this is apyramid...

Do you know how a traditional insurance agency works? You have a broker and agents. In this case RVP is the broker and the rest are agents. Where's the problem? Its not much different than a traditional agency...except that the agent's commision is spread over several people and not one.

As far as the $199 goes...that is not so much for "training" as it is for LICENSING. You folks DO know you have to have a license to sell insurance...right?

Anyway. They are legit. Why would Traveler's buy a company that is shady???

Legit but misleading.

Maybe all MLM companies should self-reflect on how they do their business and why people hate them so much.

One person from PFS says the 199 is for licensing... another says its for background check... yet another says its for training... another is told it is just to join... hmmm

you don't need to go though a company and paying for their own training courses to go through the process of getting the required licenses... stop by your local library and ask for state license locations, study material, actual fees, etc...

----------
A reputable company is given an allocation of a budget for hiring new employees, which almost always includes any possible fees that are required to be hired... I did not spend a single dime getting my job... in fact they spent a whole heck of a lot of money recruiting me and relocating me even before I stepped foot into the office that first day...

So I found this:

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff10157.htm

Gist of the link: Primerica scours all these resume/job sites and gives job offers to just about anyone who passes an background check...

The "to-be employee" must pay $199 for some sort of fee(I think they say its a background checking fee and new employee processing fee), AND take a multitude of training classes, all of which MUST be paid for out of the "to-be employee"s pocket.

I did once earlier ask if it was the company paying for the training required for the job(and its with the same company doing the teaching)... she said no, out of her pocket... but at that time I didn't pursue it further cuz I didn't really catch onto it as a MLM scam until now.

I feel so sorry for her.......

Give her THIS

They target specifically to low income ppl, and even if their insurance is "legit", its far more expensive than a comparable policy would be at a much more reputable company...

Here's one of the posts they wrote up on myspace... yup my friend still working there... i wonder how much she really made after all the expenses just to get the job...

----------------------

Title: Know someone who needs help financially...or need a job?

Body: Hey,

anyway, for the past summer, I was busy working and taking my exam for my license. I am currently working part time in Primerica, which is part of citigroup (which i know most ppl know of)..and i know what people will think about working in this company...the reason why i'm working in this company is because i like to help people..and it's my goal to help people how to save up for the future and get out of debt..me and my team educate people how to save money and get out of debt..i'm asking if you know anyone under this category:

-people who's married
-people who have young children (think about their education in the future)
-people who's still paying their debts, loans, mortagages, etc..
-people who are in need of insurance (Life)

If you know someone that are under this category, let me know b/c i can help these people that you care about..

Also, if you're not so sure of your life policy, I am license to read the policy and believe me, you don't believe what life insurance company may say on the policy ppl have...

*JOB OPPORTUNITY*
ALSO, i am looking for sharp people, with good motivation and have great communication skill, that can work with me and this company..if you're interested of working full/part-time, let me know...and if you have any question at all, feel free to ask me...

Best Regards,
