If you read the stories you'd see it was someone from the White House who demanded her resignation be sent in immediately over her Blackberry.

If you read the stories, you'll see that it was her immediate supervisor demanded her resignation saying was because the White House wanted her out. It's clear that the Secretary of Agriculture was keen to get rid of her but that's different from saying that the White House "demanded" her resignation.

I'm not defending the White House here, IMO, the staff there should have been aggressively trying to vet the story before letting anyone take any action. There's a big difference though between using "higher ups" as cover for your own cowardice and actually receiving instructions to fire someone.

Sherrod's supervisor demanded her resignation.

Sherrod was informed that the White House wanted her out.

Someone in the WH panics when asked about the situation from some media source (probably Fox related). From there, it went to SecAg and then to the supervisor.

Who inside the WH panicked and how far up the chain was the paranoia felt; we will never know.

The WH is not going to volunteer. Nobody in Ag is going to be punished - it that happened; then a whistle blower setup will probably happen.

Note that O'Reilley did demand her resignation.

The only thing that is true in your post is that her immediate supervisor's claim that the story would be on Glen Beck's program Monday was inaccurate. Beck didn't have to run with it on Monday because by the time his program aired, she had already been forced out.

Media Matters is at it again. Only now they have done so with the vague addition (but no time) of Fox News carrying the story. in a very strange place on the Timeline. Why no time? Because it's bullshit.

But wait, The FIRST mention of the story on ANYTHING Fox related was on Fox Nation (a kind of blog) at 1:40 PM.

Then it's posted AGAIN on Fox Nation at 1:49PM but the headline is changed to say she's been forced to resign.

Media Matters has a hardon for Fox and is trying everything it can to implicate them in this, when, in fact, the WH acted BEFORE Fox broadcast a damn thing.
