Why does this show have to be mindnumbingly boring for like 43 minutes, and then 1 minute of something interesting?

Stillerman is a perfect example of an executive who doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. I understand the constraints of their budget, but the way he is going about this is absolutely ridiculous. I can't think of many shows that remained successful after firing the creator/showrunner.

Budget. That 1 minute costs more than the 43 minutes of boring shit.

On the other hand, the 43 minutes wouldn't be so boring if the writing was better. Not to say the writing is horrible in this show, but most of the character development scenes leave a lot to be desired.

I thought during the running of the first season that they didn't want the zombies to be the main focus of the series. They wanted to focus on the characters trials and tribulations during this event. Which is fine but they just need to do a better job of doing it so it's not a snooze fest.

Something is horribly wrong when Darryl is becoming one of the more likable characters.

He's my favorite. This show has went terribly wrong. There are just so many things wrong with the show, I don't know where to start. Its becoming painfully predictable as well. You knew when Shane showed up alone last night, he had sacraficed the fat guy.

I love this show. Most people hate Shane, but I think he did what he had to do. I have a feeling that Otis will show up with Shane's hair on his hand, which could stir up the group.

You think this is bad you should read the books.. while the concept and directions it takes are good and unexpected, the characters aren’t much but shades of each other and the dialogue is painful to get through.

Exactly. It's possible to have a show that isn't exciting constantly, but there is good character development and interaction between the characters that it keeps you interested. A lot of the HBO shows are like this. The problem with The Walking Dead is, outside of Daryl, possibly Shane soon (although he has annoyed me to this point), and maybe Glen, the characters are either boring, annoying, or both.

Only watched a portion. I may wait for an opportunity to see more than one ep a week!

But some things I have been noticing. They seem to like CGI blood. Why? Use it every so often, or "enhance" current physical effects and it works, but having fake spats flying about, in a non-3D generated manner, and you get blood flying in directions that just does not "feel" right. (I refer to the part on the bleachers... those splats looked painted on when they started shooting).

While I do not LIKE the suggestions (like less outdoor shots) I can also see that it is hard to pay for a big-budget series when you do not HAVE a budget. Sometimes the best series are made when the budget is limited and people are forced to do something rather than special-effect their way out of it.

That said, "not showing zombies" is a little lame. What, you only see hands in the foreground as they are chased through basements and hallways?

First season was good enough. Then this kid getting shot turned into a 5-episode snoozefest.

You know the kid is gonna live. There's little to no suspense. The bitch of a wife is annoying as shit too. "OMG I WANT TO OPT OUT, NEVERMIND I HAVE A HUSBAND AND SON"

Just started this series last night. The Pilot was all right, nothing that captivated me. Felt like they ripped of 28 Days Later with the inception. Anyway, since it's partially based in Atlanta, I will continue to watch it.

Two weeks at most I think. They didn't stay long in the woods once the Asian guy came back with the car. They stayed a couple of days, if that, at the facility. They've been looking for the girl for like two or three days.
