Personally, I don't think reparations are the answer to anything for black people. Besides I don't want anything from anyone period. Let me rephrase that I don't want a damn thing from anyone. Whenever I fill out an application it pisses me off, when it asks what nationality you are. I always put other.
The thing with reparations is that the idea doesn't come from the ones that still live in the ghetto. It comes from the one's that went to good schools, got good jobs, those that are what some would call successful. They get an education an realize that some things can be done to change their peoples existence.
People in this country need to stop labeling each other as Asian, African, Mexican, Indian, etc......In this country we have a half-sense of identity and a half-sense of being American, our cultural identity has been defined by our surroundings. Everyone should just be American and that's it. If everyone thought of everyone else as just being American a lot of social crap would start to disappear.
Those that want to make something of themselves, for themselves and for their children won't let anything stand in their way. Let the dead repay the dead and the living deal with their social-economic issues. One thing I would say is that some of you shouldn't judge others if you have never walked into a place been denied a job because of who you are. If you can do that then judge.
Once again I said no to reparations. Reparations will not help anyone least of all black people, black people need to help themsleves. They need to find a sense of worth and put aside the past and the unending cycle of self-depreciation.
