now: it's a dns problem! i can connect by ip, so how can i browse by my network places?!?
then:
desktop & laptop 1 have firewall turned off. they can now share files & printer between the two of them, no prob. laptop 2 has had firewall turned on, firewall turned off, scope of exceptions changed from subnet to all, is on the same workgroup, everything. it still cannot see the other computers on the network, nor can it connect to the shared printer. just for clarification: network of three computers, 2 of which can see each other fine, 3rd cannot (but can still go online through wireless network). no idea why. would like to keep sp2 if possible, will uninstall if necessary (but i have no idea why it shouldn't work.) need help, tia.
first:
every computer on my 3 pc network got sp2 recently. they can all still go online but they can't share the printer attached to the desktop or find each other (ie, no shares). windows firewall is manually down on each, all are on the same mshome workgroup, no love. help?
