Same kind of reactions when it was announced that Heath was going to play the Joker and look how it turned out.

Well Heath had some solid work under his belt to prepare for the serious world of Nolan's films. I saw him in Monster's Ball and knew he had a lot to offer.

Some people will always be cynics, but I wasn't one on Heath/Joker, but Murphy/Riddler doesn't sit right with me with Nolan at the helm on a serious film. Maybe in Tim Burton's world it would have worked, but not with Nolan. It's like asking Carrot Top to play the leading role in a David Fincher film.

Murphy's not all jokes, he was outstanding in Dreamgirls, I think he could be a phenomenal serious actor but he's so well known for his comedy he doesn't seem to get offered serious roles. People want to see him as an Axel Foley, but he has more to offer. I was convinced after seeing Dreamgirls. He might be able to pull off The Riddler

Ah, well I admit I haven't seen Dreamgirls. I'll give that a shot and maybe it will change my mind, I'm certainly open to seeing actors in a new light.

Nolan himself has said he will not direct a movie that involves Robin, shens.

Seems very unlikely but who knows?

Christian Bale has promised we'll never see Robin in one of the new Bat-movies, telling a reporter: "If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I'll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work."

These.

Also, they haven't even started working on a script... let alone casting people for these parts that don't yet exist.

Gary Oldman would have been a perfect riddler but he already has a minor role as Commissioner Gordon.

Why not Jim Carrey again? He was good in that role and he's versatile enough to play it differently.

Yup. Pretty sure Nolan will do a non-batman movie before he does the third one. And that should be pretty good, since the movie in between batman begins and TDK was The Prestige and I really liked that one.

Not true. He was all but maybe one character, who was played by his co-star, Arsenio Hall. But your point is valid. :)

Don't know who I'd pick to play the Riddler, but while I like the idea of Rachel in a cat suit, I don't know that she could pull off the role. How about Hayden Penettiere in the black wig she used for her recent Heroes episodes?? ;)

Oh, and I don't know if they could pull off Mr Freeze again, especially after the way they portrayed him when Arnold did the role. I vote to substitute King Tut!!
