It's nice to see that a lot of people are going to do the responsible thing and pay off debt, the opposite of what our government is doing to create these checks.

Damn, i'll be waiting for my money for a while.
The order in which tax filers will receive their payments will be based on the last two digits of their Social Security numbers.

The more interesting question is who is buying stuff that they would not have bought otherwise.

You know, for a lot of supposed rich people here on these forums, a lot sure are qualifying for these rebate checks :)

After an AGI of $75k (single) it gets reduced quickly to 0.

I sense a paradox!

I was JUST thinking the same thing. You're the first person to say you don't qualify.

I however do qualify :p Thinking of buying an exercise bike and killing my gym membership. Or it will all go to debt.

I wouldn't qualify, but I'm married...

I told my wife about the stimulus and she didn't believe me. Sooooo, she won't know that I'm going to put 1200 toward our student loans.

What she doesn't know doesn't hurt her.... haha

That could be arranged for, oh let's say $600.

I hope you bastards are enjoying my money. I paid out the ass in 2007 taxes and I get a big fat $0 waiting for me from the IRS.

Right into my bank account, where it will be used to pay bills. I'll save splurging until I have a net positive income, which will be sometime next year, hopefully.

well, i already bought something last month with this in mind to pay for it but it's not like i don't have money in the bank, so it's kinda all of the above :p
but I voted buying stuff so i make congress feel better about implementing this stimulus program.
