ECCp Proxy - Does it exist?

I've never seen any info on an "ECCp Proxy". I'm running some ECCp clients under the TA_Seti_Rangers account and would like to be able to monitor my clients. Is there a way to do this?

Well sicne the client really only does HTTP post, it's rather trivial to make one yourself. Insert one httpd, one small form handler which writes the POST from client to a file, and then small logic to send it forward again.

There was a small perl script floating at Ars forums a while ago i think. Do a search with 'Aatos' and 'proxy'.

Whenever Polo's answer isn't working, which I can't believe 😀, then PM me or leave a message on the board.

I know of two proxies that I've used myself. Both are working. 🙂

Polo: I got your Email and installed the proxy but... 😕 I don't know if it's working or how to use it. It's "enabled" and I have "Use Log" and "Log Datetime" checked. I pointed my client running on this system to itself but don't know if it's actually using this proxy or if this proxy can connect. Like I said... 😕

Maybe I shouldn't be looking for a proxy at all? What I'm really looking for is a way to monitor my remote ECCp clients from my desktop. You know, something that looks at a "log" file whenever it's updated on the client. I just want to know if a client is hung, powered off, etc. The reason I wanted a proxy is I'm a SETI participant and I use my SetiQ to monitor my clients. I can look at the client list and sort by the last result time. If it's way over it's average I know something's wrong. Is there a program to do this in ECCp?

Here's one that I use. It works with all Windows/Samba shares, so it's good for networks with *nix OS's.
This monitor reports the third field of userinf.txt to identify each machine. You can change that field without affecting your stats at ND or anything else. It still works even if that field is not unique, you just have to dig a little deeper when you see a machine that has not produced a DP in a long time.
