who can tell me what "drop it like it's hot" means?

It means, 'I strongly suggest you leave that, as if it were something almost too hot to hold, such as a baked potato that has just come from the oven.'.

you are incorrect. Hot basically means illegal... usually stolen items... when you go sell a watch at a pawn show, the owner will ask you if its "hot"... meaning stolen..

Yea, I took a few classes here and there.. however, my BEV is pretty rusty. Doubtless to say, hot does not pertain to anything like a "baked potatoe"... ie.., hot potato... only white people would make that mistake..

peace out niggga!!

I thought it meant some girl getting all freaky dancing..but im old, what do I know

as in: "drop her like she's got the VD?"

We had rap up until Tupac died, and now all we have is crap (aka hip hop)

as for ebonics, i say let the schools and society endorse it. it will make it uncool and thus no one will propagate it. Much like the southpark episode about gay culture becoming the norm and metrosexuals taking away their identity. yes, it's truly sad that a cartoon has more sense and understanding of society then our own educators.

this is the most ridiculous shlt i've seen in a while in regards to school teachings.

Because it's been established that "educators" with advanced degrees need to constantly invent new things to spend school time on, in order to look like they are on the leading edge. That's why you have kids spending less and less time each school day on the basics.

If, as a school administrator, you can invent something new to study, you'll get grants and staff people to implement it. If you say "we need to spend more time on basic math", they just yawn and ignore you, since you must not be a "forward thinker". Heaven forbid they ask the people actually teaching in the classrooms what should be done. No, let the out-of-touch administrators call all the shots.

Did you notice the title of the person pushing this stupid idea? Chief of Diversity and Leadership. If that was your job, and you were making $100,000 a year, you'd be desperate to think up things like this so you could keep that do-nothing but high-paying job.

And lest anyone think I'm talking out of my rear end, I serve on an advisory board for a large urban school district, and the people I have met in that administration are gibberish-spouting loonies. The teachers? They know the score.

Being taught to use slang has nothing to do with diversity. And those who even put forth or embrace these kinds of ideas are ignorant.
