I'm all for it. It'll let us more easily identify and ignore those who will be spending the rest of their lives pumping gas, bagging groceries, or changing oil at Jiffy Lube, and instead concentrate on the students who can go somewhere.

Except the No Child Left Behind act forces teachers to focus on those students, often at the expense of the ones that do apply themselves.

Ebonics is not a language. It's a statement. Pretty soom nobody in this country will be able to understand each other.

"Would like your driver's license application in English, Spanish, Ebonics, Yiddish, Arabic, etc?"

It's getting out of hand.

This is nuts, teachers should not be teaching ebonics. The people who dream up this sh*t should be shot! All this does is further stereotypes and I am sorry as a American, American students should write and speak proper English. No exceptions!

It means, 'I strongly suggest you leave that, as if it were something almost too hot to hold, such as a baked potato that has just come from the oven.'.

I was in school before that came into effect (and I'm also in Canada) but still

QFMFT

What's that? You're identified as gifted? Here's more menial, rudimentary, non-challenging horseshit to keep you occupied while we work with these wastes of skin over here that won't amount to anything in life.

I'm not sure either. The implication that no one speaks Ebonics in the suburbs is wrong, as there's plenty of crotch-draggin, baggy-pants-saggin Fubu-wearin' mother****ers there too.

They just happen to be white. :p

I thought chav referred to the UK thug wannabes? I don't think they wear Fubu either.

While I was attending college, a significant portion of the black students spoke in Ebonics during class. In fact, the majority of blacks in the Communications department spoke in Ebonics. I could not understand how they made it to college, let alone a four-year institute.

I'm not sure which is sadder....the Ebonics or the fact that there is a government position titled "Chief of Diversity and Leadership"
