EBAY - Warning; 3rd party access allowed!

FYI, I'm pretty sure Bonfire Media LLC (who showed up on mine) is there if you ever access the eBay WAP page, which I have done. Their page (http://www.bonfiremedia.com/) seems to be mobile-device-centric. They are a "featured partner developer" or something for eBay... I think they might have actually done the entire eBay Wireless site.

I know I authorize Hammersnipe/Auctionstealer to bid for me, but they don't appear to be associated with "ChannelAdvisor Services", another eBay services site who showed up. Auctionstealer isnt even on the list. 😕

Third and only other one is some eBay holiday sweepstakes thing.

the only thing I can think of is that if you list an auction and use any of these companies software to host pics, use a view counter or their auction layout software.. you have to give them permission to access your auctions.

besides that... i have no clue.

Not sure what the others are all about, but have been told "Andale" is to count the hits on your auction.

You know, very good chance all of us inadvertently agreed to this. Seems to me eBay had a big revision of their TOS agreement about 1.5 to 2 years ago, which we had to agree to for continuation of our accounts.

Very likely this 3rd party access issue was part of that revised agreement & we didn't see it. Honestly, how many of us take the time to read all the fine print. Plus it is not as though they list the new changes to the TOS in bold letters at the top. Probably somewhere near the bottom in lawyer speak.

In any event .... I do NOT think anyone should have access without our expressed consent. Pretty sure everyone here can agree with that.

AuctionWorks (created Jun-28-05)
ChannelAdvisor Services (created May-24-06)

Revoke this authorization for both

Thanks

Yikes, had Andale on mine, revoked. Thanks. This should be stickied (as if we have enough stickies already).

I don't know what this is but I wonder if it's when you end up going through the store for check out instead of the old way of just paying?
The first time this happened to me I was pissed because I had to add my shipping info (always use Paypal) and almost didn't pay. Decided I didn't want a NPB.

Auctiva Corporation (created Jul-04-06)

I'm pretty sure this showed up after using one of those webpage check outs that a seller was using. I hate that crap.
