OK, will report. Thanks guys, the cashing in money order then filing a claim thing didn't occur to me.

Thanks!

Buyer knew perfectly well that it was broken. Part of their plan.
Wonder how many others they have tried for?
Bigger wonder is how many have fallen for it?

I do a good deal of buying on eBay myself and I NEVER make a commitment without checking out the sellers feedback rating.
Even one with 100% I have reservations about if they have had a low amount of sales, but if a large number of sales with at least a 99.7 rating would be pretty good.

Can you provide a link to your auction? I'd like to check your wording of "broken".

It would if they practiced safe buying habits by reading what they are bidding on and checking out the sellers reputation, like I do.
You'll note that in my response, I am the buyer.
To buy something that is stated as broken, then wanting a refund because they say that they didn't know it was broken sounds fishy, if not downright irresponsible, to me.

Title: Playstation 3 40 gb, upgraded to 100gb

Description: I purchased this unit off of ebay and it has the infamous blinking red light issue. The hard drive has been upgraded to 100gb.

Includes only:
AV Cable
HDMI Cable
Power cable

Are you handy? Fix it yourself, or send it to Sony for a repair - this could be a way to get a PS3 at a bargain price!

Keep the money, send the item. Not your fault that she's a stupid wise and beautiful woman.

OP said his auction had "broken" and "as is" in the title and description.

Nice catch. In that case, I say OP better refund her the money via paypal and eat the ebay fees. Chances are they'll side with the buyer anyway. His auction is way more ambiguous than he let on in his post.

The only hint he gives that the PS3 might be broken is some blurb about a blinking red light (which I assume is like the RROD, but not being a PS3 enthusiast, I wouldn't know, maybe it's just a visual annoyance and the PS3 is still fully functional).

The fishy part is wanting a different method of refund back...it's not uncommon for a buyer to simply not even read an auction and just pick price.

People who come here for an ATOT effect or backup on something they are totally misrepresenting should at least get a vacation for a bit to think about it.

 on this auction designed to dupe buyers.

Agreed. I've never owned a PS3, so I wouldn't know that it means the unit is non-functional...BUT, before I'd buy one with that in the description, I'd do some research to find out what it meant.

This auction description does NOT match the OP's version of how it was advertised.

IMO, he owes the lady a full refund-payable by whatever means she paid him.

it doesn't flat out say broken, but the description is pretty much self explanatory. if you're buying a ps3 you should be able to realize what the description is saying, that it needs to be fixed...

I read the item description. Didn't see the word 'broken' mentioned once. Then again, I would hope people would want to find out what 'blinking red light issue' is before purchasing......meh

Also, after perusing the OP's Ebay reviews......for some reason the first 3 pages are mostly the same exact review - word for word. And its not even for the item listed. whats up with that?

OP should refund the money, and find different reviews to post.

IF so you deserve whatever you get. that auction is so full of shit and looks like a legit working unit you upgraded. NO "THIS ITEM IS BROKEN" at all.

He's slightly modified the description:

AS IS

Unit does show standby light, but does not turn on.
