Chicken, brown rice, some soya sauce. Water for drink, or chocolate milk if I so desire.

Yogurt. 8)

I often snack during the day, so cottage cheese and fruit mixed into a small container.

I used ot make my own stuff, but I am just too lazy to do it anymore, so I hired a personal chef to cook for me 5 days a week. We have a full kitchen up on the 24th floor, so he comes in at 11:00 each morning and whips something up for me. The food is very good and healthy, so it's not bad value for $70/day.

Whenever there are enough leftovers from dinner, I put it in a freezer bag and throw it in the freezer. Sometimes I have 10 days of lunches queued up, and almost never less than one or two. Then I just stuff it into a microwave safe lunch box and bring it with me since we have access to microwave ovens. I'm male, btw. :p

I've never worked anyplace that had a cafeteria. That'd be a nice option...
I "lived out of a lunchbox" for 30+ years. I hate sandwiches...especially when they've been in a lunchbox all day...but I still eat them most of the time.
Leftovers are great when you have a microwave available, as is a can of soup during the colder months.

Ok so I just moved and live a litte further away from my office. I'll probably have to eat here for lunch or go out to eat so what do you guys eat for lunch when you stay in the office?

Mainly I'm just looking for some good ideas for things to bring to the office and what not.

I usually eat at my desk (IT never takes breaks! haha). We have a cafeteria, but I never know what time I'll be free, so I just use our kitchenette since it has a microwave. I used to use the fridge, but since stuff sometimes magically disappears in there, or gets spilled on, or squashed, I just bring a huge insulated lunchbox (like picnic size) with a couple icepacks in it now.

Most mornings I just cook something up on the Foreman grill and toss some veggies in my cheapo electric steamer, bottle it all up in plastic Smart Spin containers, and I'm good to go. Easy to heat, easy to eat from, toss it all back in the containers afterwards, then throw them in the dishwasher when I get home from work.

Whatever my wife packs me. If she doesn't pack something, I either skip lunch, go out, or eat junk around the office. I used to go out a lot more, but now I tend to eat while working so I can leave an hour earlier and save some money.

I have my supermodel girlfriend make me a nice sandwich and then bring it in for me and rub my feet while I eat it. Unfortunately she wrecked the Lotus last night, and I don't let her drive the Murcielago, so I guess I'll have to get a Twix or something out of the vending machine. Women.

I eat a power bar, that is the only thing I eat until dinner every day. I've done this for the past 8 years. I've never brought in my own lunch, but sometimes go out to eat.
I'm not a dietitian, but I'm pretty damn sure that's far from being healthy. I can't imagine going the better part of the day on a granola bar.

You're paying someone ~$17,500 a year just to cook you dinner?!?!

If I could go home at lunchtime, I'd just never come back.

I have a microwave and refrigerator in my room at work so I'm hooked up. I buy big packs (bulk?) of chicken breast and grill them all up on Sunday. Then I can use them in a variety of ways for lunches. Usually I just have either a salad or veggies with it. I will also occasionally mix it up by grilling a pack of sausages or some burgers to take in, and about once a month I'll make a batch of spaghetti and take in leftovers.

The only sandwiches I can tolerate are tuna and braunschweiger sandwiches, which I will make up on days where I haven't gotten to the grill yet or just am not in the mood for chicken.

I usually have some leftovers, or I make a meal the night before and put it in the fridge. I try not to go out and spend the money, but I will about once or twice a week.

Yeah I know it's unhealthy but I just don't have an appetite at all during the day. I don't even start feeling hungry until 5pm. Even the power bar is tough to put down because I'm usually force eating it even though I'm not hungry. My cholesterol is a little high, but meds keep that under control, and that is something my whole family has, so I think it's hereditary not diet. Other than that I have a clean bill of health.

Even though I walk back and forth from one side of the building to the other all day long, I still have enough energy to make it through the day and I don't feel tired or lightheaded. I'm not sure how that works, but I'll take it.

How long have you been working? You have never brought your own lunch? Not even bring leftovers?
