Just really got bad here in the DC area yesterday... how's everyone else doing?

Oh, and just so you all know, I tried windows live local (www.local.live.com) to navigate my gf around the flooding and it worked pretty well - actually got her to work in the normal time.

Need a laugh? Check out this thread about a thunderstorm in CA. ...pansies. 😀

I'm hoping DC isn't too bad, I need to drive to Dulles today for a long-planned vacation to Spain (first time overseas, woo).

buy a GPS unit
woot.com has one for 50 bucks but it needs a laptop

its only raining in southern CT

Flight leaves at 10pm, coming up from the Shenandoah Valley, so we're leaving here around 5:45, two hour drive usually.

I think you'll be ok asa long as it doesn't rain before then... right now your path looks clear. Some delays, but not flood related, so they'll probably clear up. Course you'll be driving during rush hour, so you'll surely get new delays.

i was cleaning water out of the basement last night 🙁

i'm in silver spring, MD. it wasn't like inches or anything, not even 1 inch everywhere or anything, but we get water in the basement sometimes when it pours. sucked cleaning it up last night at like 10:30.

I heard something about there being a sinkhole in I 66 someplace close to Manassas. You might want to check that out and plan an alternate route if it is true.

Would have been nice if someone had told me that the metro was going to be all jacked up. L'efant metro station was a complete mess around 7AM.

Oooh... i gotta check the basement... I live in an apartment building, but we have storage down there.

I guess you guys are getting the storm we had a few days ago. that sucks, it was a really bad one.

Our basement is doing fine (knock on wood), but damn was that a lot of rain. I mean holy crap, that was a lot of rain.

Aren't we due to get more throughout the week?

we had a great weekend in NY. sunny all day Saturday, and a starry night.
no rain Sunday either.

It's a slow moving system. Here in College Park, MD it's been raining cats and dogs for the past few days. Long Island is going to get hit big time starting Wed for almost a week.

heavy rain = lotta accidents = traffic = angry motorists = shaking fists furiously at the heavens
