No it wont.

Employers don't give a shit if you have a girlfriend or not. What would make you think that?

Well, employers like people that are sociable and enjoyable to work with. Having a girlfriend automatically gives you an edge. They know you aren't some basement dwelling MMO addict.

Well, I've been on internship interviews and they always ask what I do for fun outside of school. I always tell them stuff but I feel disadvantaged because I can't tell them that I hang out with my girlfriend because I don't have a girlfriend.

I updated my post

Get a girlfriend if you want a relationship. Not for anything else.

Buy a Real Doll. Take pics, put on facebook, when they ask about girlfriend just tell them to check out your facebook account.

Tell them how you went onto a technology internet forum to get the advice needed to snag a gf for the interview for the sole purpose to show them how sociable and enjoyable you are. Not only does it flaunt your communication skills, it also demonstrates your initiative.

I understand what you're getting at... but having a girlfriend doesn't automatically make you sociable. And you can be plenty sociable without a gf. It's all about your attitude.

Well I am quite sociable, I have many friends, but its hard to convey it in something as formal as an interview. Interviews usually are scripted beasts and its hard to show your personality. You're stuck answering questions about teamwork, leadership, and technical stuff, not exactly a good way to show your personality. Usually, I try to get the interviewer to laugh. I'll make jokes about their age, their balding hair, or anything else I can get away with. Sometimes it works, sometimes.. it doesn't.

I did have a girlfriend for a few months in high school but she was the one that asked me so I have no experience with this whole girlfriend search.

Your answers, body language, tone, and attitude convey your sociability.

OP: If this is a serious post, any advise is moot anyway as your attitude toward women precludes "obtaining" a girlfriend in the first place. If you were actually able to do so, your thinking and attitude of women as indicated in the OP would probably get your ass dumped so fast anyway.

Anyway, I have done tons of interviews before, and the girlfriend issue has never come up with me or any others in the same interview loops.

Also, are you saying you have never had a girlfriend before?

If you honestly think it will make a difference why don't you just make one up? I think you can't get a job because you are full of fail, not lacking a girlfriend.

You do know that McDonald's is trying to hire 50k people today. Heck, maybe you'll find a gf at the Fries station.

Getting a girlfriend is easy. All you need to do is start a conversation with random girls about intellectually stimulating topics.

I pretty sure that girlfriend or no girlfriend and interviewer is going to see right through your little "socially cool" scam. If I was interviewing, I'd want an engineer with no girlfriend and one who was a giant nerd. He's probably the one reading engineering magazines and working 12 hours a day b/c he has nothing else to do. As a boss I'm not interested in raising a well balanced child, I'm interested in who is going to get the best work done the fastest.

But to answer your question, just be your loserish, quirky, geeky, self and some lovely girl will see through those traits and find out that your heart is really awesome and will fall in love with you. It always works on TVs and Movies.

From what I've heard, most companies want people who are leaders and good team players.
