Wow, do you have any logic AT ALL to back up a statement like McNabb sucks? That might be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Whether you personally like him or not may be one thing, but you can't argue that he has definite talent.

You can't really say "McNabb has always had the skills"....sure, his receivers dropped balls last year, but don't forget the amount of passes he through to their feet. He has greatly improved his accuracy this year.

Now, I'm not saying these teams WILL beat the Eagles, but remember that upsets happen in this league, I could forsee any of the following teams beating the Eagles in the regular season: Ravens, Steelers, Cowboys, Giants, Packers, Rams

The Eagles are one of the top teams in the NFC, but they will not go unbeaten. In the postseason, everyone is saying "oh we beat the Vikings already"...umm...well yes, but the game was close, and you all know it. That game could have gone either way, as can the game in the playoffs(if they play).

We should have a poll to see which team people think will be the Ickles in the NFC Championship game. :D

Go Bucs!! Let's go for our first 2-14 season since Lemon Bennett.

I was having a discussion with a Jets fan last night (one of my roomies) and this is how it went.

Jets 5-0..

Wins over:
Cinci (Last in their division)
Miami (Last in their division, arguably the worst team in the league this year, and they only won by 8)
Buffalo (2nd last in their division, ahead of only Miami .. see previous line)
San Francisco (Last in their division)

There's 4-0 right there so let's be realistic, their only other decent win came over a team that's 50%.

Eagles 5-0..

Wins over:
NYG (2nd in their division behind Philly itself)
Minnesota (1st in their division)
Detroit (2nd in their division behind the Vikes)

Patriots 5-0..

Wins over:
Arizona (1 spot above SF in their division)
Buffalo (see above statement)
Miami (see above statement)

Now I'm not trying to say the Eagles are by any means clearly the best team here.. I'm just pointing out some differences in these 5-0 records.

I'll take the matchup vs Minnesota anyday. Their pass D is ranked 25th in the league (before this Sunday, don't know if they moved up a spot or not), Eagles will pass all day on that again. Furthermore, Philly's pass D was effectively covering Moss/Minny WR's in single coverage, I can't see how that's not dominant? Philly didn't give up one deep ball to Minny all game, Minny got all of their yardage on short stuff. Short stuff isn't bad if you're the Pats, but when you have Jim Johnson (Philly D coordinator) blitzing with 5 different schemes and shadowing Daunte with the Freak so he can't scramble, it's extremely hard to get 1st down after 1st down on short stuff vs Philly. To summarize, Minny's pass D is too vulnerable at the moment, and their run D, while good, has mental lapses. Last weekend vs NO was a perfect example, overall Minny gave up 31 points to the Saints. Face the facts, Philly is only getting better and Minny's barely holding on in wild shootouts where the first team to score 30 first wins.

Come on now.....its one thing to fantasize about the Eagles running the table in the NFC...but its just plain foolish to contemplate any team this decade so far being better than the Pat's this year.

In week 1 the Giants were not a team yet. They are a completely different group today then the team the Eagles beat. And they just won the Minnesota game. Either way, the Eagles are good, no doubt. I think this is their year.

I do agree with both statements, but I think the Eagles have gotten better too. I think it's a matter of not getting "fat, dumb, and happy" like my high school football coaches used to say :p

sp33demon....don't be silly.

The Vikings don't need defense. Their offense is just plain unstoppable. Player for player, the only guy I'd take on the Eagles offense vs the Vikings is Westbrook, but even that could change once Bennett is back....don't forget that, the Vikings are doing this with their top 3 running backs out. A rookie, 4th on their depth chart. And they still rack up 600 yards of offense. That is insane, no matter how you look at it, no matter who they're playing.

The Eagles don't always continue to improve. Have you forgotten how ugly the game against the pitiful Chicago Bears was? They also manage to get another started placed on IR about every other week.

I'm not saying the Vikes will destroy them. I'm saying its a good matchup, and if you're not stupid, you can't say the Eagles are a runaway favorite.

Oh yea, in your lil' comparison, you left out one of Philly's wins is over Chicago, one is over Carolina, and one of NE's wins is over the COLTS(2nd best team in the league in my opinion) and the Seahawks(one of the top 3 in the NFC in my opinion). I guess those lil' details aren't important?

You should be a political campaign advisor. Nothin' like skewin the facts!

I'm not going to lie and say I didn't post NYJ/NE easy wins and Philly's 'tougher' competition. Regardless, if we're talking 'real competition' it's still NYJ 1-0, PHI 3-0, NE 2-0

It doesn't matter if they lose in the playoffs.

Eagles fans can all lube each other up over the regular season. Win a superbowl first.

I really hate this argument .. what's the point in comparing past teams with current teams? I can see comparing the superbowls the Pats have won in the last 3 years with the fact that Philly hasn't won one, but come on, so <insert favorite team> won a superbowl over a decade ago, that has absolutely nothing to do with football today. Besides, I'm pretty content with the Eagles 1960 NFL Championship

The point is, sir, that every year Eagles fans have enormous expectations only to see them disappear when it counts. Have you not learned anything from the previous 3 NFC championship games?

They're playing at Cleveland (who, btw, is 3-0 at home) next Sunday. I don't have too high of hopes for the Browns winning, but I hope they at least make it a good game.

Go Cleveland!

Exactly. The whole point in being a fan is cheering for a team through the good and the bad. So what if the Eagels have lost in in the NFC Championship game the last 3 years, I have faith that they will not do it this year. They're a better team than last year, and the years previous. As mchammer187 said, we may as well just give the trophys away to teams like the Pats and the Yanks eh?

Wow, you really do just like arguing, don't you? I NEVER had anything McNabb and I've ALWAYS been a true Eagles fan. Philly has some of the most diehard fans in the league, to argue that is idiotic.

It's going to be interesting to see how the Steelers handle the Pats and Eagles in the next few weeks. If the Steelers O-line and D-secondary step up and have good games, they can beat both teams. Roethlisberger is turning out to be a good QB. Duce and the Bus are a great RB combo .. and you can't argue the fact that Burress and Ward are fantastic WRs.

Either way .. I love football season. :)
