I agree with that statement 100%. I will also through in that also compared the S4 and the V which I eventually purchased. The biggest deciding factor for me was, do I get the S4 and have decent fuel economy or go with the V and pay the fuel mileage price. The M3, S5 and C63 fell somewhere in the middle offering both worse mileage than the S4 and less performance than the V. If Audi could figure out how to make another 100HP factory out of the S4 engine, put it in the S5 and not charge $100k, I would be owning that right now instead.
That might just be what you get with the next M3. A 400+HP I6 in coupe form.
